Stayed here on the weekend and at first found it itimidating. Drove into the car park to find it full as a football match was on at the rangers fc club and fans were using the swallow car park. Even though there was a car park attendant monitoring cars as they came into the car park it was still full. In the end we had to park in a disabled bay. Outside fans were loitering around drinking and shouting. The hotel bar was full of fans and we had to walk through the crowd to get into the hotel.

Reception area and staff were nice. Rooms were ok. The rooms were ok and clean. Bathroom was ok and clean too. Furnituire was a bit old but expected for the price you're paying.

Once the match had started and the fans had cleared the hotel we went to the bar. Bar area was nice with comfortable seating. Bar staff were friendly with good drinks.

We left a note to have our rooms spruced up but no one had attended.

Breakfast was good. Nice clean pleasant dining/breakfast area with a good selection.

For the price they charge i thought the experience was fine.

We stayed here for two nights as it was the only available hotel in Glasgow on that particular weekend... with good reason. Here's a sampler: bathroom was dirty; the shower was full of mould; the bed was uncomfortable, with an old matress and shabby bed clothes; the curtain rail fell down in the middle of the night; room service took 50 minutes for a toasted sandwich.

The whole place needs to be refurbished and started again; definitely would rate this only as a very last resort... put it this way, I didn't take my shoes off when I got in because I didn't want to dirty my socks.

This hotel is situated near Ibrox Park in Glasgow and is not in the nicest of areas. We knew this beforehand but only booked it as we could not find another hotel as they were all booked due to the Scotland V Italy football international. We decided to get a fast cab into and out off the area. On the way back after hailing a cab, we told the driver where we were going and he said....."oh...bandit country"! Says it all really. Although if you are having a quick overnight stay it is located right next to the M8 motorway and we were not disturbed by traffic. It also has free car parking which is amazing for Glasgow, although it is not situated in the city centre.

The hotel is a bit dated and really needs some refurbishment as the decor is a bit out-of-date. Our windows had damp black stains around them and wallpaper was peeling off in our bedroom.

The shower was rubbish and could only face straight down so you had to hold it in your hand all the time to shower.

The rooms seemed clean and some toiletries were provided.

I was disapointed there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Seems a bit mean.

Bar in the hotel was quite lively with big screens playing Sky Sports and there was also a wedding going on but we were not disturbed by either.

Althougth it is only a 3* hotel so I didnt expect too much but thought it could have bene better.

Breakfast is nice though - good choice and plenty of it.

Only £42 on Expedia with a free dinner and breakfast, I really wasn't expecting much. I was amazed at the quality of the food, the comfort of the room and friendliness of the staff.

Dinner was 3 courses served in a pretty restaurant with very attentive staff. You have full choice of the 'normal' menu, with only a few more expensive dishes haveing an additional supplement of one or two pounds.

I asked to take up my dessert to my room, but the waiter insited on bringing it up for me! They really work hard at making you feel happy.

My only gripe was a window which wouldn't close in my room, but this was quickly attended to and I was moved rooms with no fuss whatsoever.

There is WiFi access in public areas, and free parking on-site. It only took me 10 minutes in rush hour traffic to drive into the centre of Glasgow the next day.

I didn't use the sauna facilities, so can't comment.

It is 4 star service and food at 1 star prices. I don't know how they do it!!

  • Liked — The cost for what I got
  • Disliked — A window which wouldn't close- soon sorted by nice staff though

We stayed here for 2 nights 28th/29th October 2007 in order to attend
a concert at the SECC. First impressions of the Hotel were favourable, with a helpful, but dipsy receptionist at check in. Our room was 124 (first floor front of the rear building) and was of a reasonable standard. If I was picky I could say that it needed re decorating and the bed replaced (a bit tired), but it was clean and tidy, with tea/coffee etc waiting for us on a tray.

Having read some negative reviews on here, we were pleasantly surprised overall with our stay - not noisy, friendly staff, good location for the City, Food was plentiful and to a good standard and leisure facilities were fine.

We were surprised that the bedroom wasn't up to the same standard as the rest of the Hotel, but it is possibly scheduled for a makeover.
As a base for staying in Glasgow, we would recommend the Hotel to others, but being close to Ibrox, we would suggest not on match days.
