Reading the previous reviews I can hardly believe that they refer to the same hotel that I stayed in last weekend. But they do, and it is one of the few times that my own experiences don't match with what is written here by others. The only explanation that I can think of is that some of the floors of the hotel have been refurbished while others have not. So be careful and avoid the 5th floor, where my room was located.
Having booked a twin I was stunned to find that one of the two beds was actually not a real bed but a couch-turned-into-stretcher! This has never happened to me before in any hotel. The room itself was fairly large, but the decor totally outdated and worn-out. Lighting was of the cold energy-saver type that you normally find in Ibis hotels. The bathroom was like the rest of the room: outdated and worn-out. The bathtub and shower were one big plastic piece, with a few cracks and generally not something that you would consider lying down in.
On the positive side is the location of the hotel, close to the start of the main shopping street and not far from the train stations. The exterior and lobby of the hotel are nice, and breakfast was good. The toilet was in a different room from the bath, which I find a nicer and more hygienic solution. So as long as you can secure a room on one of the refurbished floor there is really nothing wrong with this hotel, but staying in an unfurbished room will pretty much destroy your experience and makes this hardly value for money.
