This little quirky place is quite high up the ratings in 'Glasgow Italians'.
I visited here only a few weeks ago with my partner and friends.
It was a little quiet for a Saturday night but the staff were attentive and friendly.
The décor seemed to have been the same for many years but that added to this little cafes charm.
The Specials looked great on the board and even better when they arrived to the table. Fresh and imaginative and they tell you that they change daily, which I can believe.
Might I recommend my favourite dish of all time - Tournedos Rossini. The entire dish was cooked to perfection. Utterly stunning.
Décor: old but nice. - Really nice open pass so you get some theatre from the kitchen.
Service - Friendly, but younger staff need training.
Menu - Very inviting, varied and the specials are special
Wine list. -
Sorry folks, It was a struggle to give this place as high as 4* as when I asked for the wine list I was told that they had two. I got excited. "Could I see both?" I requested.... "No No, we only have two wines. Would you like white or red"?
Go here for the food and service please folks - not for wine. An Italian needs a good wine list, they have some of the best in the world! In fact I'm rating this 3.5
And one last thing - The staff did seem to be willing us out of the door to allow them to shut up as they had all sat down and were looking at us. Other than that, they were really friendly.
