I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, check in was professional and courteous and the room was great. I stayed here whilst on business in Glasgow.

The room was clean and very comfortable. There was a large bed and everything that you would expect to find in this type of hotel. There were tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, spare pillows and blankets, extra towels. There was a flat screen TV in the room which had lots of digital television and radio channels which was a nice touch, everywhere else I stay only seems to have the normal terrestrial channels.

During my stay I visited the hotel restaurant and bar. I had a good mixed grill and profiteroles for dessert. The food was great but I did have to wait a little while for it to arrive. The waiter brought me a newspaper to read whilst I was waiting for my food, so I didn't feel like I'd been forgotten.

The hotel is very central and Glasgow Central station is about 2 minutes walk away. There are plenty of shops, pubs and bars close by. There is a Tesco Extra about 2 minutes walk which is convenient.

I stayed on the 3rd floor. I had a good nights sleep but I did get woken up at about 3am by some other guests arguing in the next room it only lasted about 5 minutes and there weren't any other disturbances in the night. I got straight back to sleep again and I just put it down to it being Friday night.

In the morning, I went down for breakfast, which was buffet style. You can choose from the cooked breakfast or continental, basically help yourself to whatever you want, there was a really good selection available.

The only problem I did have was parking my car. The hotel doesn't have it's own parking. You can park in the street for free between 6pm to 8am and there is also a multi-storey car park around the corner which guests can park in for a discounted rate. Parking outside these times is expensive.

  • Liked — Great room.
  • Disliked — Parking can be expensive.

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night at the end of February whilst on a business trip to Glasgow.

I chose this hotel mainly because of its location as it is only 2 minutes from Glasgow Central station and a further 2 minutes to the location of my business.

The rate per night was great and I opted for the Premier breakfast which was excellent.

The room was a twin with en-suite and all the usual facilities such as TV, tea / coffee etc and there was plenty of room for hanging clothes etc, and also plenty spare bedding and towels etc.

I was on the 4th floor and there was very little noise from outside, the only annoyance was the air conditioning / heating kicking in as it tended to rarttle a bit but nothing too drastic.

The staff at the hotel were welcoming and helpful as were the staff in the bar. I did find the prices a bit expensive for a pint of stella for example - £3.15

I had a great nights sleep and the breakfast was excellent - help yourself to as much as you like which included cereals, toast, muffins, fresh fruit, and all the cooked things you would expect such as bacon, sausages, beans, mushrooms etc. Also good choice of tea, coffee, juices etc etc.

Very acceptable hotel and I would stay here again if I was in the area.

We arrived and didn't expect the room to be ready, but it was. The staff were very polite and helpful. The bed was massive and very comfy. We decided to eat in the Hotel and the food was good although the service was a little slow.
It is in a good central locations and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

My husband and I arrived at the hotel to be told we couldn't have the double room we had booked as there were none left, they could offer us a twin room instead. As is was about 7pm on a Sat. we didn't feel up to trying to find another hotel or argueing - so we stayed. Our twin room was very clean and fresh looking, beds very comfortable and overall I was pleased. We were able to find (free) street parking right next to the hotel which was a bonus. During the night I was not disturbed by noise at all, my husband was woken up once by fighting hotel guests. We were only there for 1 night and it was exactly suited to our needs re: location and price. (under £60 for the night, including breakfast)

Good points: Very clean hotel, good breakfasts, mostly friendly staff, handy location for city centre.
Bad points: Very noisy in the room - both from outside and inside the hotel.

The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment, but this in itself didn't interfere with my stay. My sleep was disturbed every night due to the noise levels in the room coming in from the street outside as well as staff and other guests banging doors and so on. The secondary glazing in my room was virtually useless as a noise barrier and would benefit from improvement although I saw no evidence of this as part of the refurbishment.

Leaving early one morning I thought I'd catch breakfast at the opening time of 7am but on asking the woman in the breakfast room if I could take something away as advertised in the Travel Inn brochure in the room I was curtly informed "breakfast hasn't even started yet". It turned out a staff member had failed to turn up. An unforseen situation which could not be helped but I didn't expect such an unhelpful response. I simply left and obtained breakfast elswhere.

The hotel was very clean and most of the staff were very friendly and attentive to my needs. Not sure I'd stay there again though, for the noise issue alone.
