The hotel was a little further out than I thought. Check in staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very nice and bed was very comfortable. View wasn't wonderful but can't have everything. Exceptional facilities - all in all an enjoyable stay and would definately recommend and stay again.

I booked this hotel as it offered a great deal on family break - 2 double beds and kids go free. Their own website offered the best package which included breakfast. Great deal!

On the outside it looked like many other tower block hotels but on entering it was a delightful surprise. The lobby was very nice and our room clean with excellent shower/bath facilities. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel which made for a great sleep!

The swimming pool was perfect for my children and I to have a morning dip before a superb selection for breakfast. Spoilt for choice!

Great location for Glasgow central and easy to find with a carpark for around £2.00 per night.

I would definately stay again.

If you have stayed at Marriotts in Asia like the splendid Bangkok JW or elsewhere, this place will astonish you with it's mediocrity. It's like a cheap and nasty YMCA. As others have noted the "spa" is a joke, run down and pokey, not even bathrobes in the changing rooms, just a sad box of tissues. Nor in the room.

I even had to haggle to get a bottle of driking water in my room.

Public areas are depressingly 1970's, and the Mediterraneao restaurant has possibly worst hotel food I've ever had outside of Papua New Guinea. The breakfast was truly disgusting, and bloody expensive. I mean, cold pancakes three hours old, rancid fruit, baked beans and greasy bangers? It was hilarious in its badness.

I know UK hotels are crap compared to anything in Asia, or even the US, but for $250 a night this was just gobsmacking. Who do these people think they are?

Frankly I was furious. Never again, and a complaint letter to Marriott when I get back.

I stayed at the Glasgow Marriott with work and having stayed at Marriott hotels in other cities I pretty much knew what to expect. The hotel itself is pretty non-descript from the outside and the immediate surounding area is a bit run down and scruffy but a few hundred yards on is the centre of Glasgow which is fine. Inside the hotel the public areas are pleasant enough. Check in was quick and the staff were friendly.

I was given a double, double room which was clean and tidy, large comfortable bed(s) and all the usual Marriott bits n bobs, desk, safe etc.

The bathroom was large and clean with a bath over shower, in fact my one complaint would be the shower which was so unbelievably hot, no matter what I did with the buttons, that I couldn't even hold my hand under it. You do get the standard Marriott toiletries (plus the pathetic little bag it goes in) which is good.

I didn't eat dinner at the Marriott but I did have breakfast which was £14.95 & £2.50 tray charge which is a bit steep for a basic cooked breakfast, toast and a bit of cereal, but still not the most expensive I've had!!!

Overall not a bad experience although I think next time I'll try the Raddison which is a little more central and looked a bit nicer, but that's more personal preference.

Nothing great or bad about the Marriott, just the usual experience.

My husband and I travel often with work and normally stay in Marriott level hotels. We stayed here after a night out in Glasgow and felt so strongly about our treatment that since our experience here we have asked both of our organisations travel desks not to book us into Marriotts in the future.

The staff were rude, the room was small and smelt dreadful, the pool is a disgrace and the place in general has no atmosphere - so nothing going for it. To add insult to injury the food was awful and no-one seemed bothered, so as far as we are concerned never again.

  • Liked — Leaving in the morning.
  • Disliked — Having to stay there.
