My husband was traveling to Glasgow on business and his company booked us at this hotel. From arrival until check-out, the staff were some of the most friendly and helpful people I have ever met.
The rooms were great except our room had a strange smell for a period of time but it finally went away. The location was central and we walked to the restaurant at the Malmaison hotel which was fabulous! But be warned, there are some hills so my mother had to take a cab the short distance. Breakfast at the hotel was overpriced and not very good, so walk a few blocks for a quick breakfast.
Warning - Don't visit the McDonalds just a few blocks from the hotel. We were traveling with our children and they were hungry one night so we walked down to the McDonalds. A fist fight broke out between two men and his mother! Mother and son were drunk and my daughter was very upset after witnessing it. We were appalled that the police don't even bother to come when something like that happens (even though an emergency button was pushed that called the police when it all started) and were informed by a McDonalds employee that fights happen all of the time and and least this time they didn't have weapons!
After this experience, we were very wary. I wouldn't go out walking after dark.
The hotel is a little far from the bus station where all of our day tours originated from so we always had to take a cab, but other than that, it was a wonderful hotel in a good location.
