I love this hotel and I would recommend it to anyone. My husband and I had our wedding reception in the Mariott and we stayed the night afterwords. The bed was the best bit, I think I had the best sleep of my life. I will definatly be ordering a Mariott bed!

We stayed at the Marriott Hotel as part of a 2 week trip to Scotland and London. We thought the hotel stay was just what we were looking for. It was close to the city center and there was a bus stop in front of the hotel. We did not eat at the hotel.

At £148 for a 2 night stay B&B for 2 people, the Marriott was excellent value. Budget hotels in the city centre are usually about £60 per night and you still have parking (usually about £15 per day compared to £3 in the Marriott) and breakfast to buy, so £74 per night in a 4* hotel is excellent. The room was average size but the bed was huge and very comfortable with loads of fluffy pillows. Sky Sports in your room was a real plus too. The shower was also very good. Nice to have a minibar in the room as well but it was a bit understocked (what no beer). The bar area is large with nice decor and was pretty lively during our stay unlike other hotel bars I've been in. Good sized swimming pool with a sauna an steam room attached but a minor disappointment was no jacuzzi. I used the Spa as well and the massage was fantastic. Good breakfast with a large selection on the buffet (nice spicy haggis. Try it with you cooked breakfast) but if I have one gripe, I expect to be brought a rack of toast with my coffee and not have to toast the bread myself at the buffet. The hotel has a great location. Easy to find, just turn left off the motorway and you are there. It is only 300m walk from Central Station and the shops on Argyle Street with loads of pubs and restaurants in the area. The SECC is just a quarter mile in the other direction. In short, if you're looking for a budget stay in Glasgow, check out the rates at the Marriott before you book one of the buget chains.

Just spent the weekend in Glasgow visiting family with my one year old, my mother and elderly aunt. The Marriott was a great base and good value with the buy two get third night free offer. Be warned though: the location is not great, there are no shops, restaurants or cafes nearby and you can't really walk anywhere from the hotel. But we had a car so was no problem. Nice staff, clean big room with cot bed. Great pool, good bar/restaurant in hotel. Also recommend a trip to the House for an Art Lover and the Burrel Collection - we had a private free tour which was excellent.

Breakfast was good, the rooms were clean, had a big bed and close to the main tourist areas. There is also a tourist “hop-on-off” bus stop just outside the hotel (the ticket lasts 2 days so this was good value).

The rooms were fairly large but in need of an update and felt very tired. It was by the motorway so if you are a light sleeper I suggest you take your ear plugs as there was a little traffic noise.

Despite booking 2 executive rooms (on the exec floor), the rooms were all the same, and one of the rooms was not on the exec floor.

The executive option gives you access to the exec lounge, so free coffee and soft drinks and crisps (mini cheddars only), dull biscuits and tired looking apples. It also includes free beer and hot nibbles but not on Friday and Saturday (we were on a weekend break). Breakfast is also served in the exec lounge and there is a PC with free internet access and a printer.

For the extra price I would have expected a better room with a modern feel such as a flat screen TV. However we did get 3 nights for the price of 2 so it was fairly good value.
