At £148 for a 2 night stay B&B for 2 people, the Marriott was excellent value. Budget hotels in the city centre are usually about £60 per night and you still have parking (usually about £15 per day compared to £3 in the Marriott) and breakfast to buy, so £74 per night in a 4* hotel is excellent. The room was average size but the bed was huge and very comfortable with loads of fluffy pillows. Sky Sports in your room was a real plus too. The shower was also very good. Nice to have a minibar in the room as well but it was a bit understocked (what no beer). The bar area is large with nice decor and was pretty lively during our stay unlike other hotel bars I've been in. Good sized swimming pool with a sauna an steam room attached but a minor disappointment was no jacuzzi. I used the Spa as well and the massage was fantastic. Good breakfast with a large selection on the buffet (nice spicy haggis. Try it with you cooked breakfast) but if I have one gripe, I expect to be brought a rack of toast with my coffee and not have to toast the bread myself at the buffet. The hotel has a great location. Easy to find, just turn left off the motorway and you are there. It is only 300m walk from Central Station and the shops on Argyle Street with loads of pubs and restaurants in the area. The SECC is just a quarter mile in the other direction. In short, if you're looking for a budget stay in Glasgow, check out the rates at the Marriott before you book one of the buget chains.
