Stayed one night in the Marriott for a family get together and loved every moment of it. I am from Glasgow so I know of the hotel but have never stayed before.
From check in to checking out I find it hard to fault either the hotel or the staff.
The only downfall was the renovation of the restaurant, but to honest it was a minor irritation.
We booked the tariff which gives you access to the executive lounge. This is well worth the bit extra you pay. Drinks and canapes are served early evening until around 9.30pm free of charge and breakfast the following day. When you think that breakfast costs around £15 - £20 it's a good deal.
The room was large, with 2 double beds, which have to be the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, in an hotel. The room was very comfortable and nicely furnished. The bathroom spotlessly clean with lovely toiletries.
Every member of staff we encountered was polite and helpful. Their company should be proud of them.
Although close to the M8 motorway the sound proofing is very good.
The leisure facilities are very good.
The hotel is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the city centre, which has fabulous shopping and a wide variety of restaurants to choose from.
We stayed in the Hilton Hotel last year which is in the same area and I found the Marriott to be of a better standard.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Glasgow.

We stayed here while on an Insight Tour, and loved it, as we do all Marriott's. This hotel is the Marriott closest to the airport (about 2 miles away) and the location is not good for walking around, but if you are driving, or are passing through, it is good.
The room was smaller than that provided at the Edinburgh Marriott, but still was very nice - everything was CLEAN, well equipped, bar full of computerized items, tea and coffee service, internet access and a Business area for Internet access (to be paid for). The washroom was luxurious, with wonderfuly thick towels and plenty of supplies.
The TV was great - and there was in room check out as well. The dining room was serviced by very friendly staff and they were prompt and attentive.
All in all - a great hotel.

  • Disliked — Location not good for walking - either to attractions or other restaurants.

It was my first time visiting Glasgow as well as staying in the Marriott and I enjoyed them both. When I think of The Marriott I think of a classy and pricey establishment and one that I wouldn't use because of that.I stayed here with my cousin & her husband on their recommendation and I was impressed. The hotel room was a good size and the bathroom was also decent. The toiletries were of an excellent quality. The view was of the rear carpark but it didn't matter because I didn't really spend much time in the room during the day.The buffet breakfast was excellent.A good choice of foods. It is only a 5 min walk to the station and a little more to the main shops. There are plenty of restaurants & bars to choose from.I went to this chinese buffet restaurant which was excellent but I can not remember the name.Sorry! But it had big glass windows at the front & you had to walk up stairs to enter. The weather wasn't kind to me but I recommend driving to Loch Lomond. It is really nice and on a dry day you can walk around it or hire a bike. There are shops there and places to eat.

I have stayed in this hotel twice now and both visits were fabulous, I wouldn't even consider staying in any other hotel in Glasgow. The rooms are large and airy and, having travelled quite extensively, I would say that thier beds are some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I really couldn't say anything negative about this hotel. The buffet breakfast is also very good. I would reccomend treating yourself to a hot stone massage in the hotel beauty suite as a little treat - on both occassions they were super.

Typical Marriott. Clean, plenty of room. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom, a little small but nice tub. Breakfast was steep, $30 but anything you could possibly want in the buffet setting. Close to the motorway but no opening windows so no noise. Restaurant was good for lunch didn't have dinner. Taxi's always available and only a 5 minute walk to train station, shopping, etc.

  • Liked — Dependabilty
  • Disliked — Proximity to motorway
