The Marriot is a lovely Hotel, good value for money and attention to detail. The facilities that you have access to, like the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym, bar and restaurant are all very nice.
Although I thought they bar was a tiny bit expensive, I think overall it is about the same price as its competitors, but much better.
By far the best bit was the breakfast though....all you can eat cold and hot buffet in the morning. Excellent choice and the food was lovely.
Another good thing about it is that it is about a 5 minute walk out of glasgow, so it is close enough to be convenient but away from all the pubs and clubs so its quiet. There was no problems with loud guests, or any trouble at all the whole time I was there.
Although I'm quite young and its mainly older people, families and business men that stay, I was made to feel very welcome, the staff were very nice, helpful and quick to answer any questions that I had.
Overall, I had a great time and would definitely go back.

Stayed in the marriott for a works "do" and I can honestly say I was very surprised. Given the age of the building and the location (far end of the city centre) I was expecting the experience to be average. Very efficient staff, open fire, huge beds all changed my mind.

Only a couple of downsides and I think its for all hotels not just marriott. What is the obsession with that wee rug thing at the foot of the beds? As it can't be washed after every stay, I don't want them anywhere near my bed. Also, no water provided. Got to buy it. Notice this in a few hotels of late. Rant over.

Overall, clean, efficient, nice food. Seems a good package to me.

The hotel lobby was impressive and reception and concierge staff were polite, helpful and got our stay off to a great start. We booked a standard king size non-smoking room which was top-notch, clean and comfortable. The deal we got was £99, stay for breakfast and great value. The bed was huge and bedding luxurious. The breakfast was delicious and varied with lots of choices and all good quality. It was topped up quickly and the staff were efficient at serving teas and coffees and clearing away empty plates. We ate early - around 8am so had no problem getting a table but we noticed later that there was a large queue outside the restaurant with people having to wait to get in.

We used the leisure facilities, which were lovely. The pool was warm and the steam room clean. Changing facilities and showers also clean.

The cafe bar was cosy and friendly, though maybe a bit pricey. We didn't try the restaurant at night as the menu did not appeal - too fussy and plenty of great restaurants within a short walk.

  • Liked — comfy beds and breakfast
  • Disliked — mini bar - was afraid to touch anything as it had sensors on it

Good value, paid £89 a night. The room was clean but basic. comfy bed. Breakfast was well above the usual quality in hotels in the UK.

In addition to comments posted on this site, we arrived late morning on 21 Dec. and found staff at the front desk able to check us into a room straight away. Rates were fair for the room considering we were 10 min. or so walk to city center.

Area is undergoing some rejuvenation in terms of building development, however, that should not stop you from considering this as an option. Easy to call a taxi or walk around the City -

Appreciated the friendly staff at the front desk – and the concierage, especially on a busy evening with holiday revelers. Buffet style breaksfast – fill your boots for the day!
