My husband and I booked a long weekend here through Tesco, and chose the hotel because of its central location and very reasonable parking charge.
We were pleasantly surprised at the standard of food and accommodation on offer. Our room had an extremely comfortable Kingsize bed and well equipped bathroom, and standards of cleanliness were high. I must admit that I always give the beds very close inspection when staying in a city centre hotel, for obvious reasons! (read earlier review)
Breakfast service was very busy at the weekend but the staff coped reasonably well and the servery areas were regularly replenished. It was a far more relaxed experience on the Monday morning. The variety of food on offer was surprisingly varied, although a cooked breakfast is never brilliant from hotplates. The healthy options, fruit and pastries etc. were excellent.
Staff were courteous and helpful at all times, and the hotel is only a ten minute walk to the wonderful shops, theatre and restaurants. We didn't have time to try out the leisure facilties and sorry, but weren't tempted to have an evening meal at the hotel.

  • Liked — Situation. Good breakfast and helpful staff.
  • Disliked — Impersonal bar and lounge areas

stayed here as part of a corporate conference which included a two night stay and an evening party. The room was that of a luxury hotel, with two large double beds, soft sheets and lots of pillows.

The staff, expecially the concierge were very helpful. There was a huge choice for breakfast and they wee happy for me to take a few items from the buffet with me as I had to leave at 7am after the second night.

Stayed Jan 2009. Major problem - Bedbugs. Room 927. For such a nice and and rather pricey hoteI left covered in large itchy swollen bites. Very , very dissapointing and distressing. We have written to the hotel and are yet to recieve an adequate response. On a plus side the breakfast was excellent.

We stayed here ( again ) over the new year period from 31/12 to 3/1 and as always thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rate from the Marriott website was very good ( £80 for B&B in a double double non - smoking room ). The room itself was spotless and the bedding very comfortable. The bathroom was sparkling although the towels are getting a bit thin. Breakfast was very good with all the usuals with specials available on demand. Although very busy on New Years Day the staff coped very well and kept the restaurant very clean and the buffet well stocked. Not keen on the self service toasting experience though!!

Drinks are a bit pricey in the bar which can at times get a little busy. The staff in this hotel are all very good and very helpful.

Glasgow is full of excellent restaurants many of which are only a shortish walk from the Marriott or a few minutes by taxi.

I stayed here on the 23rd of November as i was going to the Take That concert at the SECC. The staff were lovely, especially the nice wee men who flagged us down a taxi, the food was great and the room was very clean. The bed was massive and really comfy. The only negative comment is the i paid £6.50 for a cocktail that was only about 2 mouthfuls. I would definately stay here again! :-)

  • Liked — I bed! It was the biggest and most comfortable bed ive ever slept on!
  • Disliked — The price and size of the cocktails! :-(
