Stayed at the Carlton George Hotel, Glasgow for one night in July 2006. Was with my mum for a mother/ daughter shopping, laughing, drinking, eating and generally good time bonding. Arrived before 10am in morning and were delighted to find that our room was ready and we could book in and leave our luggage. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and gave us advice as to where to eat later in the evening and I must say that their recommendation was spot on and we had a great meal in an Italian restaurant just roun the corner. The location of this hotel is perfect for a shopping expedition. Our room was very clean, large and quiet and the air conditioning was very welcome due to the hot weather. The most welcome surprise was that we were executive guests and all the drink in the room was complimentary, including having crystal glasses to drink out of. Also there was an executive lounge that also supplied complimentary drinks. My mum and I had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was also very good. All in all this is a great hotel, ideally situated in the city centre and I will certainly be back in the near future. I would like to save my best remarks to the end and they are in respect of the hotel staff. The two young gentlemen that were there when we checked in ensured that our short break was just perfect. They could not have been more pleasant or helpful and are a credit to the hotel. The rest of the staff were also more than pleasant. This hotel gets the thumbs up from me.

We (two couples) stayed at The Carlton George on 23rd June for two night's.This is an excellent hotel,well situated for shopping , sightseeing,restaurant's,bar's,very central and easy acsess to the train and bus station's only around the corner, a 2min walk.
The staff were very helpfull and friendly,"Window's" restaurant was lovely and clean with view's over the Glasgow rooftop's,great choice of food at breakfast although the coffee was rather strong. The room's were large and clean,nice toiletrie's and lots of fresh towel's, bathrobe, slipper's,complimentary mini bar which was good too,we didn't get a chance to use the lounge bar as we found the Irish bar which is part of the hotel situated next door had a great atmosphere and great food and staff also,overall we had a brilliant stay and i have already booked to return with friends later in the year to shop till we drop! i can't wait to go back, keep up the good work.

despite being shown to a room that was not ready it was quickly rectified by staff who were extremely pleasant and helpful.
The hotel is ideally situated in Glasgow , the rooms were clean and pleasant yes there were minor faults such as a cracked tile in the bathroom and minor scuff marks.
The free drinks in the room and trhe lounge on the 7th floor made up for these minor faults.
I would certainly stay there again

I visited the Carlton George with my mother on a shopping weekend. This hotel is perfectly located for shopping, as it is bang in the middle of the main shopping area.

The hotel itself was wonderful. The staff extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful, and looked our on to the main street. The bathroom was nicely furnished with plenty of toiletries. Included in the price of your room is the use of the mini bar and a decanter of Gin, Whiskey and Sherry.

We ate in Windows restaurant, both for breakfast and dinner. The food was fantastic. We also ordered room service - the burger is highly reccommened, the best burger I have ever had!

The hotel has no bar as such but again also included in the price of your room, is use of the executive lounge on the 7th Floor. This has every drink you can think of served from the afternoon until 11pm. Tea and coffee are served all day.

This hotel is superbly located and excellent value - highly reccomend it!
