We (two couples) stayed at The Carlton George on 23rd June for two night's.This is an excellent hotel,well situated for shopping , sightseeing,restaurant's,bar's,very central and easy acsess to the train and bus station's only around the corner, a 2min walk.
The staff were very helpfull and friendly,"Window's" restaurant was lovely and clean with view's over the Glasgow rooftop's,great choice of food at breakfast although the coffee was rather strong. The room's were large and clean,nice toiletrie's and lots of fresh towel's, bathrobe, slipper's,complimentary mini bar which was good too,we didn't get a chance to use the lounge bar as we found the Irish bar which is part of the hotel situated next door had a great atmosphere and great food and staff also,overall we had a brilliant stay and i have already booked to return with friends later in the year to shop till we drop! i can't wait to go back, keep up the good work.

despite being shown to a room that was not ready it was quickly rectified by staff who were extremely pleasant and helpful.
The hotel is ideally situated in Glasgow , the rooms were clean and pleasant yes there were minor faults such as a cracked tile in the bathroom and minor scuff marks.
The free drinks in the room and trhe lounge on the 7th floor made up for these minor faults.
I would certainly stay there again

I visited the Carlton George with my mother on a shopping weekend. This hotel is perfectly located for shopping, as it is bang in the middle of the main shopping area.

The hotel itself was wonderful. The staff extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful, and looked our on to the main street. The bathroom was nicely furnished with plenty of toiletries. Included in the price of your room is the use of the mini bar and a decanter of Gin, Whiskey and Sherry.

We ate in Windows restaurant, both for breakfast and dinner. The food was fantastic. We also ordered room service - the burger is highly reccommened, the best burger I have ever had!

The hotel has no bar as such but again also included in the price of your room, is use of the executive lounge on the 7th Floor. This has every drink you can think of served from the afternoon until 11pm. Tea and coffee are served all day.

This hotel is superbly located and excellent value - highly reccomend it!

Excellent! What more can I say?! From the moment we walked through the spotlessly clean glass doors we were made to feel like Royalty. The reception staff could not have been more friendly and helpful - we asked about the Rennie Mackintosh museum and the next morning an envelope full of information was presented to us. The staff in the Guest Lounge were faultless and could not have done more to make our stay more relaxing. The bedrooms are of ample size, the bathrooms are on a par. The steam-free bathroom mirrors, the hot water and powerful showers were excellent. The breakfast selection was like nothing I have experienced at a hotel before, catering for everyone's tastes and the waiting staff were excellent. The restaurant "Windows" provides views across the rooftops of Glasgow so you can appreciate the wealth of architecture while you eat breakfast and get your bearings for the rest of the day. Despite the central location and the busy commuter roads on the doorstep the rooms, lounge and restaurant are a peaceful sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of City life. If this is not enough to entice you...the contents of the mini bar in the bedrooms and the contents of the bar in the Executive Lounge are included in the room tariff and at £110 - £130 per room per night Bed and Breakfast this hotel is a winner. I have stayed here several times and have not had a bad experience, I will undoubtedly stay here again in the future.
Perhaps the only downsides to this hotel are the lack of facilities (no pool, etc.) but with a multitude of attractions and sights to please everyone''s tastes just outside the front door, do you really need facilities in the hotel? Secondly, the generator outside the bedrooms on Level 3 are loud so you may want to request a room on a different floor!
