Our young family had a club room with a view of West George Street. The room was spacious, well-furnished, bright and comfortable. The bedroom and bathroom facilities were very good, the beds were very comfortable with high standard bedding and pillows. There was a free minibar and large decanters of spirits. The decor was rather traditional in style but everything appeared quite new and well-maintained.

We only stayed one night; but we found the hotel staff friendly and helpful. An excellent breakfast was served on the 7th floor restaurant with its great views of Glasgow rooftops. The waiting staff went out of their way to ensure we got the breakfast we wanted. We had dinner at the excellent Bar Mao oriental restaurant about 10 minutes walk away.

The hotel is very well located right next to George Square, with many bars and restaurants nearby.

I was going to deduct one 'star' because the only negative point was that the hotel has no parking facilities of its own, and the nearest public car parks are about 5-10 minutes walk away. But then I decided not to be mean, because we had a good time!

The room size was small, the decor dour, there was no natural sunlight into the room which faced the atrium. We had a dinner reservation and were called 45 minutes early to be advised there were no tables avaialble and we were left to roam looking for a decent restaurant in the city, no apologies from them, they just blamed the reception staff.
Would not recommed, would not return.

My wife and I have just returned from a two week trip through Scotland and had the pleasure of spending two nights at the Carlton George Hotel in Glasgow.

This hotel really surpassed my expectations for a city hotel from the friendly check in to a well set up and comfortable room. The hotel is very well located just steps from Queen Street train station and George Square and is very convenient for sightseeing, shopping or business. We enjoyed the executive lounge on the top floor with the hotel's compliments as well as the in room mini bar and found the service to be outstanding.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable place in Glasgow and would definately return.

We have stayed at this excellent hotel 3 times and can not fault it.

It is a first class base to see Glasgow in all its friendly splendour.

Great value all round.

A friend and I spent a great Christmas shopping weekend at the Carlton George and had nothing but praise for it. The hotel was very near to rail links, and shops/restaurants yet was quiet inside. The free mini bar in our room was certainly a bonus, as was the lounge upstairs. The rooms themselves were very well equipped and the beds were comfortable with plenty of bedding available if necessary.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us tips on best places to visit during our stay.

We opted to have a cooked breakfast delivered to our room and it was delivered on time, was hot, and food was plentiful. Definitely worth the £100 we'd paid for the night. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Glasgow.
