We booked this hotel for a night away and found a great deal on Expedia for a 5 star hotel. The lobby of the hotel is nice and we were looking forward to entering our modern room. It was far from modern! The room was obviously very outdated. The decor contained baby blue dingy wallpaper, a very old blue recliner and scuffed up furniture. It was obvious the bathroom had been re-done and was nice, but it did not at all match the decor of the room. The tv in the room was very small and did not offer any pay-per-view programming, as was promised. We complained the front desk and were moved to the 16th floor to a room we had expected - one that was modern and warm in colors.

The concierge at the hotel was very young and very useless. We decided to relax in the spa, which were nice facilities. However, we were not happy to find the hot tob covered with sand on the bottum of it. We're not sure where it could have come from!

Upon checking out, we were informed that we were being charged for the morning paper that was left on our door, not being told this or given an option upon checking in.

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel, this is NOT it. If you are looking for a good location in Glasgow city centre, the location is good.

I stayed for one night in a standard room on the 16th floor.
The room and bathroom were clean and modern, with usual facilities including iron, trouser press, tea and coffee making, TV (inc Sky sports), etc. The bed was first class.
The staff were polite, but since I didn't have any unusual requests, I could not test them properly.
The location of the hotel is in the business district, next to other chain hotels. It is next to the motorway (no road noise) and easy to get to by car, once you find the car park entrance. Other colleagues not from Glasgow missed the entrance and got stuck on the one way system. Not an attractive area to walk, not dangerous, just not attractive. Okay for a business stay, but not the best for pleasure stays - the Radisson SAS is better located.
The spa and pool were okay, but starting to show their age.
In all, would mirror the other posts, ie a reasonalbe 4*, but does not give those extras that you would expect from a 5*.

Stayed here for 1 night in November. First time at this hotel have stayed at 3 others in Glasgow. This is easily the best, proably the dearest too to be fair.

Underground on site parking welcome especially at the £5 per day rate for guests.

Location is fine on the edge of the central area a 10 min walk if you go towards town. I had no concern walking there

I was upgraded as a Gold HH member to top floor with panoramic view across the city. This also allowed me access to the Exec longe and a breakfast which, against their own advice also included a couple of hot items

A fine and comfortable bed allowed me a good nights sleep. Room and bathroom contained all you might need in good condition.

I encountered excellent and friendly staff at every turn despite the fact that the hotel was full and Glasgow Celtic were there prior to a match attracting some attention.

Sorry I didnt spend more time at hotel!

My partner and I spent a comfortable night in the Hilton, while i was on a work contract to review a local production at the Kings theatre. My first time in the glasgow hilton. My accomodation was booked on bed and breakfast basis. After a few questioning looks at check in (im 24 and my partner is 19) we were given a room on the 6th floor having asked for a high floor no mention was made. However the room was immaculate and comfortable.
The swimming pool was excellent and spa facilities as expected.
The buffet breakfast was as much as could be expected but was hot and edible.
I will be back for a two night stay in january.

  • Liked — The Friendly atmosphere and professional approach

This was about the 5th time we have travelled through to the Glasgow Hilton for a weekend break before Christmas. It's the perfect hotel to relax in after a day of Christmas shopping and very central to the main shopping areas. We had an end of corridor room this time and it was designated a Family Room although we had left the kids at home. The room was slightly larger than what we had experienced in the past and as it was on the 17th floor the view across the river Clyde was excellent. Everything was perfectly clean as always and the Hilton beds and pillows are always so soft and welcoming. Our weekend deal included dinner on the first night however when trying to get a reservation while checking in we were told that nothing was available until after 9.00pm. The receptionist asked her manager to speak with us when we informed her that this was much too late and he soon arranged a reservation for 7.30 as requested. Breakfast at the weekend now goes on until 11.00am which is very good however there were still the customary queues towards the end of the period. All in all this was another very enjoyable and good value deal from Hilton in a very good hotel.
