We stayed there on the occasion of my son's graduation and were so disappointed. There was conflicting info on website about smoking/non smoking rooms so i booked by telephone and was told all rooms in the hotel were non smoking, but when we arrived to check in there were only non smoking rooms left. The desk clerk couldn't have cared less and more or less told us we could take it or leave it. The rooms were stinking of cigarette smoke and so were we by the next morning. I have no idea where the hotel gets it's five stars. I have had better rooms in travel inns. The lobby is nothing special, the room was basic with few facilities We had a meal in Cameron's restaurant and it was not bad, apart from the fact that we had to send one of the steaks back as it was not cooked as expected. There was no atmosphere in the bar and the whole hotel lacked the five star label.We wrote to the general manager to complain and we got a standard letter apologising and offering a room upgrade the next time we stay there. We will not be taking him up on his offer as i would not stay in a hilton hotel anywhere again.

We stayed here on a Sunday evening in July 09 in a Queen room on the 19th floor, classed as Executive, which gave us access to the Executive Lounge.

Good points - room was clean and tidy, nice view, everything worked ok. Reception staff seemed friendly enough. Used the pool and jacuzzi etc and they were ok. We didn't arrive until after 7pm but the pool was still open until 10.00pm, which was a blessing as some places shut at 8. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. (Tip - use the Exec Lounge to avoid the crowd - if you are booked in an exec room). Has its own car park under the hotel.

Downside: Bar prices - cheapest glass of wine was over 6 quid!!! Pint was £4.25. Outrageous. Car park costs £10 per night. Location - walking into the main city centre in the late evening felt a little intimidating due to the hotel's location, yet its too short to pay for a taxi.
Exec Lounge closed at 8pm on Saturday & Sunday.

Stayed here for one night - easy access from M8 junction, stayed on 15th floor. No special hilton honors rooms apparently. Well appointed, views over the city. Wifi only on lobby and 1st floor, but can use the wired service and go wireless too downstairs for same fee. Room good size, nice desk area to work from. Swimming pool and spa very nice - would recommend restaurants too. Typical Hilton really - only thing to say was that the furniture was a little tired looking, although everything worked and the bed was comfy.

I would defn recommend this hotel for a luxury stay in Glasgow. Prompt checkin, friendly service, large room, bathroom had shower and bath, great breakfast selection and loved the leisure facilities- we used the gym, pool and spa during our stay. A 10 min walk to Buchanan street or there is a taxi rank outside the front door. Concierge service was quick and very helpful.

The only downside - the mini bar and room service very expensive.

We loved this Hilton and will defn be back. We got a great deal on hotels.com.
