My wife and I have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at the Hilton Glasgow. We chose this hotel due to its relative close proximity to the SECC (approx 20 minute walk away). We found the location very convenient, it's about half way between Glasgow Cental Station and the SECC, and much cheaper than the hotels around the SECC! We got two nights bed and breakfast with dinner on the first night for £195.
The hotel its self is very modern, and it contains all the facilities you would expect of a Hilton Hotel. The ground floor has a leasure centre which includes a small but perfectly formed swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym. There are two restaurants which are quirkily decorated and serve pretty good food. The breakfasts deserve a special mention as they were just wonderful, so much choice and they really set you up for the day!
The room was like the rest of the hotel, very modern and very well equiped with a large TV, fully stocked mini bar, air conditioning (not that you need it in Scotland!) and a large and comfy bed. The bathroom was also very nice although the shower was the most complicated one I have ever encountered! My wife was also very impressed with the hairdryer, very powerful apparently! The only let down was that the plug in the sink did not stay down unless wedged with a damp flannel! Trivial it may be, but it was annoying!
We'd definately stay at this hotel again as it did everything well with no fuss, a quality hotel that does not break the bank!

My wife and i stayed here for 3 nights at the end of May. We arrived at the hotel, room was ready so we could check in. The room itself (Exec Floor) was quite spacious with all the ammenities you would expect, OK, it perhaps could do with renovating at somepoint, but it certainly wasnt shabby and was to a standard i was happy with. The bathroom was fine, would have again preffered a shower with door or screen rather than shower curtain, but apart from that it was AOK. Water pressure, tempreture perfectly adequate.

My only issue with the room, the beds. Why dont Hilton in the UK take after their USA counterparts or even other brands like Sofitel and put decent matteresses on their beds, ours didnt appear to have much life left in it and was really quite lumpy.

Regarding queing for the lifts, never really had a problem, yes ok, sometimes had to wait for the 'next one', but thats life.

The Exec lounge on the ground floor has changed from my last stay here, it is much nicer, shame there is no view though. During the week you have a full bar service and its not crowded, come Friday and Saturday the place is packed until 19:30 and you can only have wine, cheap champagne or beer (Soft drinks too). I am not suprised, there were quite a number of tables taking full advantage of the 'free' bar and were stacking the drinks up. I was suprised that it closed at 8pm, but again, it stopped people staying in there all night drinking themselves stupid.

Staff were very friendly, doormen on the whole were friendly, only one grumpy one.

Bar staff very knowledgable on local whiskeies, which was great, look at the bar not at the drinks menu, much better selection. GBP£5.00 a pint for lager was a bit steep though.

We ate in the Connors restaurant, quite elegant, food was on the whole good quality, my wife had a problem with her food half way through and when we mentioned it was removed the bill without fuss. Good wine selection and as per normal for Hilton, way over priced, but of course you dont have to buy it....

We were recommended a great Indian Restaurant, it was £3.00 in a taxi each way. The food was great, not your usual Indian fare but something quite different, the restaurant was caled Mother India. Worth checking out if you like indian food.

On the whole, i liked this hotel, will probably stay here again if in Glasgow.

Stayed in one of the executive rooms which were very good.

Room was great and spacious with a comfortable and large bed. 32inch lcd tv with sky channels such as sky sports and movies. Rooms were very clean and had a good (if expensive) mini bar. Room service was 24hour on certain food and again was very good even if a little pricey.

With this executive room we got a free breakasft served between 7-10.30am in the executive lounge, sandwiches and snacks 3-6pm, and then free alcohol and and canopes from 6-8pm. Soft drinks were served throughout the whole day. Free drinks included a great selection of beer, wine, champagne and spirits. Although spirits are not served in the executive lounge on a Friday or Saturday.

The wellbeing centre was very good, with a decent sized pool, a jacuzzi as well as a sauna & steam room. The gym had great equipment and was not busy.

Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpfull. We asked for a bucket of ice at 3am and they brought it to us within a few minutes! Overall would reccomend this hotel and will return again.

I have no complaints about this hotel. The staff were great and very friendly towards us and the room was spotless and very comfy. This location of the Hotel is near the center of Glasgow with only a couple minutes walk to central station. The is the second time we have stayed here and am sure we will be back. 5 stars.

I can't believe the previous reviews are genuine. This is the first time I've ever written a review but was so shocked at what I was reading that I felt I had to write one.
To say a queue at the lift is the hotel's fault show a lack of intelligence. This can and does happen at other hotels all over the world.
I found no problem whatsoever with the water. In fact I stayed at the Marriott nearby, this May and due to a major burst pipe in Glasgow the hotel lost ALL WATER and use of swimming pool. Toilets in the room couldn't even be used . This again is very unfortunate but is nothing to do with the idividual hotel. I was travelling with a small child and the water in the Hilton was safe, not scalding hot or cold, so that is a lie.
As for the staff I found them to be all very friendly and helpful and all managed very well to keep the balance between friendliness and professionalism.
Concierge and doorstaff were also excellent and very very helpful.
In fact I was so impressed by the way the staff made us feel so welcome I booked my Mum in for a break the following week.
She too commented on how friendly the staff were, and said the restaurant staff both at breakfast and dinner couldn't do enough for her. The bed was very comfortable the room in in excellent state of repair with a large flat panel tv and full sized desk for work..
The only drawback I can find about the hotel is although the location is fairly central the views from some of the window aren't very nice. If you ask for a high room the view is less obscured.
