“Worst hilton I've ever visited”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013 via mobile

They don't seem to understand you come to a hotel to sleep. Swimming pool and facilities are great and gym staff are lovely but maintenance is poor, building is noisy and reception are less than helpful and take too long doing anything. The food was not as described on the menu and was often different depending on what night you ordered it. It's a shame as meant to be a great hilton but I prefer the Hilton garden in Glasgow as food and views are better. The rooms are also much better maintained there and reception staff are extremely helpful.

Dear jenglish,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Hilton Glasgow.

Although you found the swimming pool and facilities great and the gym staff lovely I am sorry to read your feedback regarding our reception team and the food.

All Tripadvisor reviews are shared with our management team to review with their teams and I can assure you that your feedback will be included in their departmental customer care training.

We do hope that despite your disappointment on this occasion, we have the opportunity of welcoming you back to the hotel at some point in the future.

Kind regards,
Lisa

Attending a function, I booked a room for an overnight stay. The welcome was courteous and warm, the room was large, comfortable and had everything you need, like a hair drier, iron and board, and toiletries without having to ask for them. The air con worked a treat and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh and piping hot. Check out quick and easy.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors are the Executives, but there is nothing wrong with the lower floors Stan...

I stayed here recently for a weekend after a business trip to Glasgow. My room looked out over the city, and inside it was very clean and nicely decorated, with a proper desk for working at as well as a comfortable bed. I enjoyed the breakfast, served in the main hotel restaurant by very friendly staff. This offered not only a full range of hot and cold items but also provided some special cooked-to-order dishes. The public areas were elegant and well-maintained. The hotel is about 10 minutes' walk from Central Station, and very handy for the airport bus service.

Room Tip: Rooms on the City (east) side are likely to be quieter than on the west side, which overlooks the mo...

As a Diamond HHonors member I am fortunate enough to visit a lot of Hiltons. The Hilton International Glasgow ranks up there with the best of them. This was my second time staying in this particular hotel and I was curious to see if was as good an experience as I had previously. The answer simply is "Yes it was".
I met the super efficient Rachel at check-in. She immediately welcomed me to the hotel, knew that I would be arriving and with her Supervisors ok upgraded me to a beautiful suite on the 20th floor. A more attentive and pleasant person to check me in I could not have met, professional, courteous and friendly.
The weather in Glasgow that particular day was especially wet so the shopping trip I had planned was put off and I went to the executive lounge. Here I had coffee and lovely afternoon sandwiches and desserts that were excellently presented. After this I went up to my room to catch up on emails. As I walked past the front desk, Rachel enquired was all ok with my room. Another nice touch. I ordered room service which arrived promptly and piping hot. I headed to bed early and had a great nights sleep in a hugely comfortable bed. For breakfast the following morning, I went down to the dining room. They have changed the design since my last visit. It is more like a cafeteria now. This was the only little complaint/disappointment I had during my stay. I preferred the old set up. However the food was super which is the main thing. I printed my boarding card later and checked out. An excellent stay.

We stayed here on 2 separate occasions for a single night each stay and were upgraded to the executive suite. The rooms itself were average Hilton rooms. Everything was clean and the mattresses were comfortable. However, in each of the rooms for some reason, the toilets never flushed. When we called for maintenance they came up, added water to the tank, and manipulated the pump until it flushed. However, they said they could not fix it until the following day which was after we checked out. That was a bit disappointing.
The staff, particularly the concierge, was very friendly. Thank you.

Stayed 1 night as I had a business dinner in town. Room was very nice - spotlessly clean, well equipped with soft and fluffy towels and great toiletries. Breakfast was brilliant too - top quality buffet style with very freshly prepared food, very good fruit selection and excellent coffee. Staff extremely professional too with efficient and friendly reception and restaurant staff. Would have been 5 stars but again, in common with so many top hotels - why is that??!!!, no free Wifi.
