Stayed here after arriving to a substandard hotel that was part of the package. Delightful staff - really chatty! They managed to put us in a fabulous room even though we arrived last minute. Large, comfortable rooms that felt luxurious to stay in. Had a really pleasant stay!

  • Liked — NIce rooms, friednly hotel atmosphere
  • Disliked — nothing!

No way a 5 Star hotel and staff need to learn how to smile

I am a gold card hilton member and have stayed at this hotel on many occassions (not through choice may I add). They are the only Hilton Hotel that I have ever stayed in that do not offer any extras as a gold member, normally you would either be upgraded, be given wine, water and chocs in your room etc. Never ever has this hotel done that and they never acknowledge you as a frequent stayer. Reception staff are snobs and seem to think they are someone because they work in a 5 star hotel. The rooms are large and reasonably okay but I would not say 5 Star standards, more 4 star. Breakfast service has always been poor with bad management and always a long queue, hotels should not offer breakfast if they do not have facilities to provide breakfast to guests. And be patient in the morning as you will have to wait a long time for a lift, I have missed many a train as had to wait up to 30 minutes for a lift and to check out.
So basically I would never stay at this hotel through choice, I only stay when have to with work, I wouldnt recommend it as a 5 star hotel and the staff need to learn how to smile and interact with some customer service off course if you look the part and appear rich they fall at your feet with is so off putting. Every guest who pays for a room should be treated the same, Only good point is the door man who is friendly and he deserves a medal for being one of the only staff members there who offers excellence in customer service.

  • Liked — Door man knows how to smile
  • Disliked — Why the hotel never offers anything for gold hhonors members????????????

As a Hilton Honours members, I received all this pre-messaging...looking forward to your viist. This is a business trip, so HIlton is generally a good bet for business. But this Hilton is a dreadful location and the beds are a torture rack! On a positive note, the staff is friendly and helpful.

booked a weekend deal to include dinner the first night. arrived about 4 on anextremely cold, windy afternoon, after a hell of a journey (roadworks, accidents etc.) to be told we couldn't eat as the restaurant was fully booked. this meant after checking in and unpacking (nice room, huge bed and plenty of space) we had to go and look for somewhere to eat. the immediate surroundings of the hotel are awful and very pedestrian unfriendly but the scruffy end of saucihall st was only 5 mins away. Next day after visiting glasgow school of art and the lighthouse we planned to return to our hotel for an hour to let our legs recover, then go to kelvingrove park. however when we got back to the hotel the lifts were out of order and we had to wait in the lobby for an hour by which time it wasn't worth going out again. the meal postponed from the night before was a buffet/carvery. The carvery gave tiny portions and tho there was plenty of choice for the other stuff, it was all overcooked and utterly tasteless. Wouldn't eat there again. Overall a disappointing stay which should have been a real treat.

  • Liked — nice room
  • Disliked — minibar if you touch anything you are automatically charged

Stayed here on a business trip stayed on 16th floor so very good very

First impressions when you get inside are very good
Some positives :-
- lobby excellent
- All facilities were good quality and clean
- staff very friendly
- check in was efficient
- room was large
- no wifi but broadband worked
- Comfy bed and nice and quiet
- Health club and pool particularly good
- Oh and when I asked them to recommend a curry house, they actually did (Rather than try and steer me to the hotel restaurant which many hotels do)

But
- restaurant and bar were a bit sterile and lacking in atmosphere
- Broadband was fairly pricey£15 for 24 hours (But did include an OpenZone voucher in the cost)
- Location although central is a bit isolated and intimidating if you are a pedestrian. I wouldn't be comfy walking from the city center to this hotel if I was a lone woman as the immediate approach is a bit urban/industrial and via an underpass.

Having said all that a great hotel once your through the doors

  • Liked — Good clean large room (The one i had anyway)
  • Disliked — Bar lacked atmosphere
