It is said that the Hilton Glasgow is one of the best hotels in the city. I don’t know about that but it certainly is one of the newest. The rooms are very comfortable, the bathrooms large and the views of the city, no matter what side your room faces, is beautiful (as beautiful as it gets in Glasgow, which is not so much). The staff is extremely cordial and friendly. The breakfast buffet is excellent, one of the best I’ve had from the Hilton chain. The only bad thing I have to say about the hotel is its location. It is a little bit isolated near a highway (check Google maps satellite view). It is only a few blocks from the two train stations but walking to and from the hotel can be a little scary. Since the front of the hotel faces the highway, the only way is to walk around the hotel through a not so pretty, rather scary, alley. Be prepared to walk at least two blocks without seeing a single soul on the street. Again, it can be frightening to walk alone, especially at night. If you stay in any of the Executive floors, make sure not to take any of the bedrooms near the elevators (called “lift” in the U.K.). I stayed in one of these bedrooms during my first night and couldn’t sleep all night long due to the noise they make.
Aside from that, the Hilton Glasgow is a great hotel and I would certainly recommend it to any of my friends, as long as they are willing to pay for taxi rides to-from the hotel.

just back from 2 nights at the hilton glasgow, and my wife and i were delighted,we had 2 breakfasts, which had a fantastic selection of everything from scrambled eggs to whisky. on the first night we dined in "camerons" resturant and the meal was superb, steak done to perfection, wine terrific, starters and sweets magic .The room was very good with big plasma tv ,and first for us, was a good little radio alarm gadget which you can plug an i.pod in.great shower, and nice quality toiletries, good view over the river and motorway, and still room was quiet.nice staff and clean hotel only gripe was drinks in the bar expensive.ie glass of wine and sparkling water £12.00.and finally hilton should have a pianist playing that grand piano in the bar/foyer area, that would create a nice ambiance.

Just back from a 2 nt break at the Hilton..great check in...room ready even although we were early in arriving. The hotel was very busy and we did have to wait 15mins to get seated for breakfast...we also missed booking a meal in the Brasserie but then opted for the more relaxed Cameron restuarant...the food was amazing altnough not cheap and the desserts are to be experienced...leisure facilities were good and the rooms were spacious light and we had great views.
If you want a relaxing short break with a bit of luxury this is well worth staying at.

A simply terrible experience. Room wasn't cleaned properly, there was rubbish in the bin, the bathroom had a huge crack in the basin and cracked tiles on the wall.
Check in staff couldn't care less when we pointed out problems with our bill. We were overcharged for parking.
We had to queue for 15 minutes for a breakfast table.
The bar was understaffed.

An appalling hotel, we will not be back!

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel but my only complaint is that even though I had made the hotel aware of my early arrival, they still did not have my room prepared and I had to wait a couple of hours. The executive floor is wonderful with a private lounge and internet. The rooms are nice and the bathrooms are very clean and well kept. The hotel itself is wonderful and includes all the amenities that a visitor could ask for only that it is not easily accessible via public transport and the walk to the city centre is very frustrating thanks to the placement of the hotels entrance toward the motorway. I would definently recommend this hotel to those that can afford it but if you are looking for another chain hotel brand, you can try the Mariott which is located just behind the Hilton.
