I had the opportunity to spend one night at this particular Hilton property before flying out of Glasgow the next day. If you feel athletic and don't have much luggage, you can reach the hotel from the city centre by foot. I do warn you that it is an uphill climb. It's roughly 0.8 miles walking. By taxi, it shouldn't be more than 10 minutes, depending on traffic.
Upon arrival at the hotel the check in process was quick and proficient. I was able to check in at 11 am, nearly 4 hours before standard check in time. The lobby is large and well appointed with numberous tables and large comfy chairs. My room was located on the 16th floor with a westward view. Yes, I had a lovely view of the M8 which runs right beside the hotel. It should be noted that I never heard a sound from the motorway.
The room was large by UK standards. In fact it is probably the largest Hilton room I have run across in the UK. The room was spotless with a single king sized bed, a comfy chair, desk and chair, widescreen tv, dresser and minibar. The bathroom was a little snug, but quite adequate with the biggest softest towels.
There is ethernet internet available in the room. A little steep at £15 for 24 hours. The fee does also provide you with a log-in and password to use the wi-fi available in the lobby.
I did not eat at the hotel, but did look over the menu. Quite steep again with the prices. Of course the minibar prices were outrageous as usual.
Taxi fare from the hotel to the airport is a fixed fee of £18.
Overall a very good stay. The only reason I did not rate the hotel as excellent was due to its menu and internet prices. I would stay here again.
