I had the opportunity to spend one night at this particular Hilton property before flying out of Glasgow the next day. If you feel athletic and don't have much luggage, you can reach the hotel from the city centre by foot. I do warn you that it is an uphill climb. It's roughly 0.8 miles walking. By taxi, it shouldn't be more than 10 minutes, depending on traffic.

Upon arrival at the hotel the check in process was quick and proficient. I was able to check in at 11 am, nearly 4 hours before standard check in time. The lobby is large and well appointed with numberous tables and large comfy chairs. My room was located on the 16th floor with a westward view. Yes, I had a lovely view of the M8 which runs right beside the hotel. It should be noted that I never heard a sound from the motorway.

The room was large by UK standards. In fact it is probably the largest Hilton room I have run across in the UK. The room was spotless with a single king sized bed, a comfy chair, desk and chair, widescreen tv, dresser and minibar. The bathroom was a little snug, but quite adequate with the biggest softest towels.

There is ethernet internet available in the room. A little steep at £15 for 24 hours. The fee does also provide you with a log-in and password to use the wi-fi available in the lobby.

I did not eat at the hotel, but did look over the menu. Quite steep again with the prices. Of course the minibar prices were outrageous as usual.

Taxi fare from the hotel to the airport is a fixed fee of £18.

Overall a very good stay. The only reason I did not rate the hotel as excellent was due to its menu and internet prices. I would stay here again.

I stayed here for 2 nights with my husband. The room was huge with massive comfortable bed and a leather couch which also folded down to a double bed. Nice big tv and the bathroom was a great size.
The facilities were great but we were dissappointed with the food. Breakfast had everything you could want but some of it did not taste that great.
Dinner was not nice at all. Again like breakfast it is self service. No-one came near us to ask if we wanted drinks, we had to approach them but other people around us seemed to get a great service. The food was not that great for a 5 star hotel.

I would not rush back to be honest which is a shame as it is near the town, has great rooms and facilities. If I did go back I would just go bed and breakfast. Glasgow has lots of nice eating places.

Under renovation apparently... but I got a great room... bed was so comfortable... didn't want to leave it (especially with Jet lag)... Bathroom was large, well appointed and amazing water pressure for the shower... also, VERY large bath towels... Hair dryer worked well in its own little mirrored alcove. The staff were great and the food in the Pub was very good. Flat panel TV... Breakfast was a little on the disappointing side... plenty of selection... just the quality of the bacon (tough) and OJ (sour) left me wishing for something else. Pricing was fine even with the "free-falling" dollar.

Be sure to check your bill upon checkout. Mine had at least 3 errors. Also... do NOT make phone calls... even a brief local call was ten pounds!

We booked this hotel last minute as a Birthday celebration, we had a fantastic time, the hotel room was spacious also the bathroom was clean and very large.

We used the leisure facilities on the saturday afternoon great sauna etc but rather a lot of families with children to be able to swim and relax.

We would not hesitate to return.

  • Liked — Large room, lovely bathroom

I have used this hotel on a number of different occasions and have had a good experience and a nightmare trip. I must be honest the nightmare was the fact they were holding the Scottish chambers of commerce’s dinner on the evening I arrived and I got caught up in the 1000+ people descending on the hotel all by car based on the wait I had getting checked in.
The hotel is pleasant enough and has 3 different restaurants to choose from but I am not sure why but I always feel there is something missing when I stay at a Hilton hotel. The service I can't fault but maybe it is the decor they use I am not sure but Hiltons don't make me feel at home. The breakfast is what you would expect from a Hilton and the staff I have always found to be very attentive and pleasant. I agree the location is not the best and I would recommend you spend the extra money and stay at the Radisson, which is far better, positioned in the city and is worthy of its 5 star status.

  • Disliked — The poor car park
