Was a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews and when we first checked in we were offered a room at the back of the hotel. It was tiny with a window looking at a wall and one double bed squeezed in, however I asked if they had any rooms at the front of the hotel and the staff were excellent. They let me look at another at the front which was much better. Still quite small but comfortable bed and nice bathroom.

We had a deal that included dinner on the first night. the restaurant decor and atmosphere was nothing special but the food was delicious and the staff were excellent. Breakfast was served late (till11pm on Sat, and 12 noon on Sunday!) and was brilliant - lots of freshly cooked hot food and proper juice glasses that hold more than a thimble of juice. Good value for money and very central to lots of things. We would also recommend Ichiban - a Japanese noodle bar just down the street (turn left at the Museum of Modern Modern art!).

Saw reviews but decided to give this hotel a go. We arrived at the hotel to find it RIGHT in the heart of the city centre, with shops, restaurants and pubs all a stones throw away. The hotel is dated but location makes up for this (i believe a full refurbishemnt planned in 2007) .staff were friendly, helpfull and had a goodknowledge of local area. Room was compact but clean and shower was excellent. If you are looking for a room in the centre of Glasgow this hotel offers value for money and excellent service

The location is excellent, our room was small but clean - after all we were just sleeping there!

Breakfast was good.

This hotel is fine if you just want a place to sleep while you visit vibrant Glasgow.

I stay in Glasgow frequently on business and have stayed in many hotels. My business paid £69 per night to stay in what I thought was a quality chain of hotels. I was very surprised to see that the Ramada Jarvis Glasgow was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. The duvet was dirty and the decor was terrible with stained curtains and cheap mahogany furniture. It reminded me of a dodgy Blackpool B&B!! I lasted 15 minutes in my room then demanded my money back. Fortunately I got every penny back. The hotel is in an excellent location close to George Square but location is not everything in this instance. My room had an excellent view of a wall and a flashing light. I got a room with 2 single beds. I sat on the bed and felt I would have got better nights sleep in my car. How this hotel got a 3* rating is beyond me. Maybe they forgot to put a minus sign in front of the *.

No matter how cheap you find this hotel do not book it. The hotel is dirty and needs a lot of updating. Knocking it down would probably be the best way to sort it out. Glasgow is a great city and I enjoy my visits there with work. I would recommend the Marrriott and the Azzuro Hotel. Both are excellent.

Stayed here for 3 nights on a business trip. The room was very small and hot and the quality of the furnishing was very poor. The curtains were stained and the blanket on the bed had seen better days. The bed was very uncomfortable and obviously old as the mattress was lumpy. The whole room felt dingy and dirty. I felt that the hotel offered very poor value for money.
