I have had a great Spring Break in Glasgow. The City is really exciting and offers so much to do both day and night. The Belhaven Hotel helped make my stay very comfortable. The room was quite spacious and individual, comfortable bed, clean and nice furniture with a full breakfast that kept me going all day! The room faced on to the main road and although it did not disturb me greatly I was aware of some traffic noise. The location is great, just a short stroll to Byres Street, and plenty of restaurants, pubs and coffee shops on offer there. Thank you Glasgow and The Belhaven, I will return

Fine for the price, avoid the basement rooms!

We stayed at the Belhaven in the week before christmas for our first trip to Glasgow. We found the hotel on the tripadvisor website and were encouraged by the mainly positve reviews.

We were given a basement room which was fairly dark and dingy which wasnt helped by the dark winter evenings. The door lock and door itself were faulty. The room itself was huge and reasonably well decorated with nice clean bedding. However, the carpet was very suspect and there was a large brown patch in the middle of the room. Some of the fixtures were also poor such as the towel rail hanging loosely from the bathroom wall.

The hotel website boasted of satellite TV in all the rooms. Ours did not have it, but after I asked about it they put freeview in our room the next day!

Breakfast was lovely, a choice of fruits, cereals, juices and a delicious scottish breakfast! Most of the staff were very kind and helpful.

Locationwise I could not fault this hotel at all, its perfectly placed in Glasgow's trendy 'west end' district and very close to the underground which will wizz you into town. Its just a short stroll from the main street in the area where there are shops, bars and restraunts! Be sure to wander down the sidestreets for something a litle different!!

Overall this was a decent hotel at a reasonale price if you dont particularly want luxury! I'm not sure I'd stay there again but the area itself is great!

This hotel is a real find. It’s a great location- off the main road but on a quiet street parallel to it, housed in a gorgeous, tall old building, typical of Glaswegian style. We found the staff great, the young man checking us in also later served us at the bar, he was chatty, friendly and very personable. My room was on the top floor (think 3 or 4 floors in total) so a bit of a trek but with wide staircases not too bad. My double room was more than adequate for the price- I think it was £30 we paid. Spacious, clean carpet and bed clothes, a nice little window looking out, wardrobes and television, with a very small but clean bathroom with all in it you need- even some toiletries. My friend was in a basement room and had no problems with it at all. We went to the downstairs lounge/bar for some drinks before we headed out, the gorgeous fire was lit, music on and it was a really cosy environment.

Sadly we came to go to an event so missed breakfast the next day- but if you want a hotel in a great, central location (15 mins taxi from airport) shops and bars nearby, friendly staff and really good rooms for what you are paying- this is the place for you. If you are here for a longer stay and might spend more time- I would go somewhere a bit more expensive with more luxurious rooms- but as a stopover when you know you just want a comfy clean room and don’t want to blow the budget- this was ideal. Do not understand some of the criticism on here.

we had a nice experience of Glasgow thanks to The Belhaven. A great location with easy access to bus and subway, only 5 mins into the City. Nice hotel, clean and warm. room not massive in size but pleasant. Great cooked breakfast in the morning, did not use the bar at night because there are so many bars and restaurants close by. Skip the Miniature Schnauzer is the cutest dog I have seen in years! I want to bring him home with me! The Belhaven offers good value for money and we will return

Difficult to find, terrible to park near. Rooms OK although cleanliness questionable. Food OK. Good location for getting access to public transportation.
