This is a lovely hotel in a superb location for exploring round the west end, Botanic gardens and indeed to get anywhere in surrounding area. The hotel is charming with period features and bright, airy and clean rooms. It manages to combine the right mix of traditional, Victorian grandeur with a modern, luxurious feel. The breakfast was delicious and particularly memorable for us as we sat at the beautiful bay window as the sun streamed in. Very reasonably priced and would like to return in future.

Booked for 12 for a long w/end ... hotel is in a lovel part of town .by all ameneties ... on arrival got checked in with no fuss .. We were in a huge, huge room with a double bed and two singles on the first floor. All the twin rooms had double beds. Nice clean bathroom .. the only criticism I can give is that you had to hold the shower over you .. which made washing your hair awkward, but do-able for a couple of days. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was nice ......a few of our group had to wait outside in the hall waiting for a table to free up .. but when they got in they had no complaints. Overall, I would def stay at the Belhaven and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends.

The Belhaven Hotel is a beautiful old building, an easy bus ride from the City Centre and a short walk from the West End shops and restaurants. I was particularly impressed by the very helpful manner of all the staff. A hearty breakfast is served in a magnificent room which doubles as a lounge/bar where guests can use the hotel computer free of charge - which was most welcome. Although I paid for single occupancy of a double room and did indeed have a very comfortable double bed - the room itself was extremely small and urgently in need of some fresh paint. It seems from other reviews of the hotel, it is 'pot luck' which room you are allocated. On the plus side the room had functional modern furniture, tea/coffee facilities, hair dryer, flat screen tv with freeview, good heating and hot water, pristine bed linen and towels.

  • Liked — the architecture of the building
  • Disliked — size of the bedroom
