Not recommended. We had a young child with us and we had a front room facing the street- no child protection on the windows. It was very uncomfortable in the summer weather! There is a pub next to and behind the hotel so loud voices, music etc till late late late. The service was uncordial if not down right rude. Too expensive and unpleasant for the amount of money. I would recommend staying in City Centre for your Glasgow trip.

We stayed in this hotel for an extended weekend and I was impressed with the service. Chambermaids cleaned the rooms and left fresh towels every day. The food offered for breakfast was brilliant, a huge selection of fresh fruit, toast, juices, cereals and hot food of bacon, sausages, eggs etc. It was a bit pricey and a fair walk (15 mins) to centre but on the whole I was happy.

Although we did not actually stay at this hotel, but we had booked it for a celebratory meal for our son's graduation.

This was a special offer we found on the internet specifically for graduations with a set menu. Natuarally we were a little apprehensive about booking the meal for 6 people with no prior knowledge of the hotel.

We should not have worried! The restaurant was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff friendly & efficient, the food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced.

Staff accommodated us arriving almost 1 hour early without fuss or quibble. Also, the hotel receptionist went out of his way to get a taxi for us at the end of the evening. This was not an easy task on such a busy day during the graduations.

The overall experience was a lovely end to a perfect day.

The hotel is close to many lovely sites and an easy walk (15 to 20 minutes) or bus ride into the city center. Our room was quite small and the bathroom was tiny. Towels, carpet, etc. were a bit worn. Desk staff was not particularly helpful - not hostile, but not well informed or forthcoming. The breakfast ladies were a delight, and the breakfast is sustaining. Not a bad value for money, but not a hidden gem.

My friend and I stayed for one night in Glasgow. The Argyll was just what we wanted. Reasonably priced, good location, very clean, friendly and quiet (where did all those people come from at breakfast). We booked a twin room but got a double bed and two singles! Breakfast was great, buffet to start then lovely cooked selection and as much toast as you wanted (which is alot after the night out we had). I would definitely stay again and recommend it.
