My boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel after a night out in Glasgow. The lobby of the hotel looked welcoming, and I was confident that it would be nice as I looked at the prices for rooms beside the hotel reception (they priced one of their double rooms at 125 pounds). However, when reflecting on our stay, I think these prices were there for a total con! There is no way i would pay 125 pence, never mind 125 pounds for the room we stayed in! The hotel receptionist said he would try and give us a 'nice' room. If THAT room was nice, I dread to think the state of the other rooms!

We stayed on the 5th floor. When travelling through the corridor towards our room, it looked like a brothel. There was damp everywhere, wallpaper was hanging off the walls and upon closer inspection, it looked as if some of the room doors had been previously forced open! It looked like the ideal setting for a horror film. Has anyone seen 'vacancy'?? lol
Our room was across from a particularly bad area, where the wall was mossy green and damp with no wallpaper!

My boyfriend and I felt very unsafe and double locked the door as soon as we got in.

The room looked clean, although there was a piece of food lying from God-knows-when on our floor!
Our bathroom was so manky that we washed in the sink in the morning, Our shower was rusty and our bath had a blue-green stain all the way down it!

We both left to go out, taking all expensive possessions with us, as we didnt feel safe leaving them in the room.

We came back around 3o'clock in the morning, and as I pulled back the sheets, there was MOUSE DROPPINGS everywhere! And I know what mouse droppings look like. I had mice for 2 months in my own house, and it was definitely mouse droppings!!!

We didnt go to sleep at all because the room was just so disgusting and I hate mice! Also, we just felt really unsafe! We actually contemplated paying the 40 pound cab-fare home it was so bad!

I have been to some rubbish hotels in my time! I went to Amsterdam just last year and stayed at a 1 star hotel which was better than this!

I will never stay here ever again. The worst hotel I have ever experienced!!!!

Firstly, the booking reservation was incorrect. I booked a double room, according to the hotel the details you sent them were for a twin room. I was given a twin room on the 5th floor, i called them down to tell them it was a double room i ordered and wished to be moved. I went back down to reception with my reservation voucher, they showed me details that said it was a twin that was booked. They said there was no more doubles left and there was nothing they could do. After talking to them they told me they would give us a family room.

The family room was a good size room, but had the worst bed ever, the bed was lumpy, had holes in the base and was uneven, i.e my legs where higher than my head!

Had "dinner"in the carvey. Yukkk. Only had main as starters looked awful. Main consisted of 2 slices of turkey and broccoli. The rest of the food was inedible. Service not good either, got charged £35 for the above plus bottle of cheap wine.

Will not be booking with hotelsrus nor quality again.

Its cetainly a quality hotel .......but high medium or low quality?
If you can get it for £50 eg on Hotel Club its a reasonable bargain - but don't pay any more.
Good points - just fall off the train at Glasgow Central and the breakfast is not half bad.
Bad points -well its last refurbishment must have been when the built the station, other reviews will tell you about the paintwork and decor.
For an overnight stay its OK at the (£50) price...but don't pay more sorry to repeat myself

Where do I start? Wallpaper peeling off walls, no hot water, no plug in sink, furniture in room preventing opening the wardrobe, 70s double glazing ineffective so very noisy at night, bed so soft could barely walk the next day, aged flat pillows. Or would you like to hear how it took three hours and repeated calls and visits to reception to get some bedding on the bed? visits because they just stopped answering the phone. Only got the bedding by intimidating the poor concierge into letting me into the linen cupboard so I could make own bed up. This is a beautiful building in a great location that has no conception of the services it needs to provide to guests. And in a hotel I'd say bedding is key.
The room service breakfast was so bad it was actually funny. A pot of instant coffee, stale croissant and rubberised cold toast.
I would only recommend this hotel to someone I really hated - and I don't think I dislike anyone enough to send them here.

I stayed at the Quality Glasgow with work, they use this chain of hotels.
she is a grand old lady of a hotel, right by the central Station. I arrived by car and they have a deal with the local multi-storey which is ok.
I got a bit lost trying to find the car park, but that was me having a blonde moment and listening to my friend talking to me while I was driving more than anything!
My room was refurbished, with a little hallway as well as separate bedroom and bathroom coming off it. Although refurbished, I thought it was quite characterful and hadn't lost it's history.
the check in desk was busy with guests, but they handled the crowd well and got through the queue pretty efficiently.
I didn't take breakfast but it looked good.
Had a drink in the bar on the night, it was refurbished and comfortable.
I think this would be a great base for a weekend in Glasgow with friends perhaps.
