Branded as an Express or 'No Frills' Hotel, this Holiday Inn serves its purpose well. It's well located close to the River in a reasonably quiet area, a 10-15 min walk to Glasgow Central rail station, and 5 mins walk to most of Glasgow's excellent shopping.
Rooms are simply decorated, but a good size and clean. 2 visits here in 2002 and I did have soft beds both times, but no dust or scratching is always a good sign. Breakfast is included, help yourself continental style and it's a good healthy way to kick off your day.
Glasgow has developed into a nice place to visit over the past decade or so, and if you're reading this with a thought to stopover I heartily recommend you spend at least a full day here, and take an open top bus tour to see the best of the City.
Nice hotel, well located and good value.
