“Super Break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Booked this last minute and was a bit concerned what it was going to be like. I need not have worried, it was super. I was travelling with my husband, 3 children and Mum so thought I was going to have to juggle the accommodation but no, we managed to have a double bed and a double sofa bed, in each of the rooms with connecting door. The room was clean, warm and comfortable, and any of the staff we dealt with were pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast was a bit chaotic but the hotel can't help it if everyone decides to come down at the same time!! Never the less the staff just got on with things and everyone got fed. Would definitely use this hotel again, was difficult to find initially, but that is more to do with Glasgows one way system than anything else! Plus the overnight parking was close by and the shops are within walking distance also.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious room with a big bathroom and good shower and a comfy bed. Topped off with a decent breakfast. Can't really ask for more. Travel Lodge take note, this is how it should be and not the rubbish service and rooms you provide.

This is a good value, centrally located hotel. We got a good nights sleep, the shower was great and the room was quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was a good, if basic, start to the day. Although the breakfast area was very busy and we had to queue we did get a table. There is a good deal for guests who want to park at the King Street car park, which is just a few steps from the hotel. We paid £8.95 for a 24 hour voucher, which meant we had time to go shopping the next day, but I think you can get overnight only for less than a fiver.

I would recommend this hotel, its modern, clean & good position for sightseeing.
The only drawback was the heating. Never seemed to warm up.
Breakfast is very good, but dont expect any scrambled eggs if you are down late !

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter, as pub revellers are noisy at weekends.Doubles have a settee, while tw...

I arrived on the 6 april when i was greeted by michal on the desk who was so professional I mentioned i was going to m and ds in motherwell and was going to take the train when he explained to me it would be faster and cheaper if i got the bus which i did. so after a disappointing day at m and ds i arrived back at the hotel. And was greeted by agnes and laura even though they where very busy they still managed to have the time to ask how my day was u dont often get that in hotels these days so went to my room with my friends then came back down where i was met by the gorgeous karolina at the bar who could talk for scotland even though she was polish.
All in all it was a great night stay.

I (along with 11 other members of a special train) arrived after working a long day (March 29th)just as there was a shift change and therefore it took a while to sort things out.
None (I repeat) none of our crew blamed the staff and they were absolutely fantastic in getting us sorted out. We stayed there for three nights and on arrival (usually late at night) we were met by a very cheerful, professional person in the form of Ian (Cadden) who went out of his way to help us. He and his night staff have to be recommended for their high standards of customer care.Something that is sadly lacking in this day and age. Thank you Ian....
The rooms were very good as was the buffet breakfast.
Well done H.I. Glasgow (Stockwell Street)

Nice comfortable hotel . Clean and well worth value for money. Stayed here for a football match at Hampden park. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Showers are amazing. Security on the door in the evening is very re assuring but in my opinion the hotel is set in a safe area anyway. Breakfast can be a little congested in the serving area but always plenty of seating available. Only a 5 minute walk to main shopping area and bars. Pub next door called scotia bar does not look to good from the outside but inside is an absolute gem. Full of charm & character it is well worth the visit, with Live music some evenings. All in all a good value hotel with plenty to entertain you nearby.
