This is a 4* hotel with some lovely facilities but is showing it's age.

We were upgraded to a an executive deluxe that had 2 double beds, bottles of water daily, bath robes and wifi for 2 hours free.
The room was huge with 2 beds and a settee and arm chair and also a dining room table which was great to work from.

The main gripe was the decor was so out of date and the was lots of signs of bad wear and tear not just in the room but in the hall ways the wall paper ahd peeled off.
at breakfast there was things missing from the table, i has to ask for milk, knives etc.

However the hotel is is a brilliant location!! right in the middle of the shopping area.
we had no car with us so parking was not an issue.
there was a lovely pool and a beauty spa too.

My fiancee booked this hotel with last minute.com for a saturday night in Glasgow and I was a bit dubious after reading some of the reviews - but to be honest some of the comments were unfounded.

Hotel was very clean, staff were friendly, room was well equipped, pool & sauna etc were very nice, parking was great and the positioning for getting into the centre was perfect.

If you are looking for a place to stay for a night then I would happily recommend the Thistle.

I notice that the manager of this hotel says on Trip Advisor that 'It's very easy to post a comment...' Well, that is the point of Trip Advisor! Its not a very good hotel, and I really wouldn't recommend it. Unfortunately, my stay was booked by my employer, who didn't check Trip Advisor...

I was very impressed but the size of the room. I got there last minute at a very busy time of year and for a fairly good price they gave us a HUGE room with a couch, 2 double beds, desk, mini-bar, tv etc. I was very impressed and I really recomend this hotel!

Had Christmas at this hotel and it was a huge disappointment. Food and customer service appalling, Have since received an email from manager that said 'Well no one else complained!'. Says it all really.
