This hotel is great value for your money. It is quite cheap (at least if you book it on the Internet) but it has a great service and the location is perfect. The rooms were not much for the eye, but they were spacious and cleany. The staff was really polite and did everything you asked for. They even drove us to the hotel on a minibus, free of charge.

I reccomend this hotel to everyone who is looking for a cheap and well situated hotel. I would definatly stay there again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Thistle Hotel for just one night in January. The hotel's loctaion as great, right off Sauchiehall Street and just a two minute walk from the bus station.
The room I had booked was standard double bedroom but it was still larger than an average room, with a table and an arm chair. The bed was huge too, i think it was actually kingsized! The room was really clean and tidy and has all the tea making facilities, iron etc but there was also a Real hairdryer!!! which is great for me it wasnt one of those stupid ones that look like a hoover, stuck yo the bathroom wall which is what you normally get! actually there was one of those aswell.....anyway i'd taken my own just in case there was only the hoover!!
We went to the swimming pool in the afternoon, it was so quiet and a really nice pool and lay out with the sauna and steam room up on a balcony over looking the pool!
As we were only there for one night we didnt have much contact with the hotel staff but when we did they were efficiant and courteous, the only bad thing i could say was that there was a fire alarm test at 9:30 in the morning which they forgot to tell us about the night before. We were already awake but it was still a bit of a shock and I didnt really know what to do! About 5 minutes later a message popped up on the tv screen telling us it was only a test!
Overall good clean hotel, excellent location and brillant pool!

Just returned from a great weekend in Glasgow with the kids. Booked Thistle as got a great deal with Ferry company and kids wanted a hotel with a swimming pool! Family room was massive and clean. Food was good though limited choice of kids meals - had better selection in other hotels. Location of hotel is great - cinema is only 2 mins walk and shops round the corner for the mrs!! All in all a winner!

I stayed in this Hotel in room no 222 last weekend and was really disappointed. The room was shabby and cold. The windows were in dire need of a good clean and the bathroom wasn't the cleanest either. The air conditioning unit took ages to work and even then it wasn't very good. We had actually had an upgrade, so I was even less impressed that this was supposed to be an Executive Room. My final annoyance was that during the night we were woken up 5 times by people shouting and having loud conversations in the corridor right outside our room door between 2 and 5am. As we were 2 females on our own in the room I didn't want to go out and ask them to be quiet, so i tried to call recpetion to ask them to deal with it, but no-one on either the reception or switchboard answered any of my calls! So we just had to make do with a few hours of interupted sleep!

We usually stay in a travel inn but decided to treat ourselvess to a nice hotel - I wish we hadn't!!!

On the good side the bar staff were excellent and very helpful. I cannot fault them.
