Typical large city centre 1960's or 1970's hotel. Easy to find - just off the M8 and has its own car park (£5/night) entrance at rear of hotel. Literally 1 minute walk from main Sauchiehall street so an ideal location for sightseeing. We booked a room upgrade and got a large room with king sized bed.

No problems with cleanliness or noise (we were up on 7th floor). Most channels on TV seems to require payment which seemed a bit mean but we weren't there to watch TV!

Good hearty scottish breakfast with haggis.

I booked this through their reservations which I had to do because I was using some tesco vouchers. My room was a deluxe one for £120 which when I later checked was cheaper booking online with the hotel than using the vouchers, so seemed a bit of a con to me!
The hotel has a gorgeous reception, very contemporary and stylish.
We were on the 7th floor in a deluxe room which wasn't as deluxe as I'd expected. The room was spacious and nice, very clean apart from a hole in the bed throw and some marks on the ceiling and wall and the bathroom was clean but had an old soap holder with bit of grime around it, but modern and bright.
Wasn't anything special for a deluxe room in a 4* hotel was just average to me.
Very good for shopping and bars tho, and close to the railway station.
Breakfast wasn't very warm but was edible and somehow they forgot to offer me & my partner toast, everyone els got it offered.
all in all the stay was ok and reception staff where very friendly and let us check in rearly as our room was ready, I don't think I'd choose to stay there again if I was looking for something that little bit special, premier travel inns are just as nice for half the price.

The Glasgow Thistle is centrally located a short walk from the two main pedestrianized shopping streets: Sauchihall Street and Buchanan Street. It is also a short walk from the Buchanan Bus Station and the train stations. The hotel is pretty basic, comparable to a Hilton or a Holiday Inn in the United States. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was an average buffet. The concierge gave us a great recommendation on a local restaurant. The front desk staff was seemingly befuddled, though. Check in/out was slow. One curious thing about the hotel is that you have to give them two credit card imprints: one for the room and a second to cover any bar or restraurant charges (which is optional.) I would stay there again for the convenience, but if you are looking for a luxurious getaway, the Thistle would not be your hotel.

The approaching roads were a bit rough, being accessed from the north of the city centre off the motorway. With a number of tenament blocks being within the local area.

Upon arrival the reception is very clean and all the staff were extreamly helpful and well presented.

The quality of the hotel is very good, with the rooms being clean and tidy.

Included in the price of accomidation is free use the gym and swimming pool (open 06.30-21.30hr). A very useful facility if you wish to use it.

Breakfast was a buffet style with a good selection of English, Scottish. Both hot and cold including fruit.

I would recommend the hotel, and will be returning
