“A Unique landmark”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

The Glasgow School of Art is a building Glasgow and all those who use and visit it can be proud of. I was very impressed with the architectural style adopted by the creative Charles Mackintosh, which incorporates Scotland's heritage, as well as art nouveau. The interior is just as magnificent which is a tribute to both Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald. The building is a breath of fresh air, both inside and out. The tour I went on was conducted by a very knowledgable, professional and clearly enthusiastic student of the College, who pointed out and explained in great detail, numerous design elements of the building's interior and exterior. No visitor to Glasgow should miss this tour, particularly if interested in architecture, design, art and/or history. Thoroughly enjoyable. Check to see if you need to book first. Well worth the entry fee. One of the best tours, if not the best, in Glasgow.

“Astonishing tour of The Glasgow School of Art”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Highly recommend you make time when you visit Glasgow to take a guided tour of The Glasgow School of Art a crowning glory of the incomparable C.R.Mackintosh. A mix of styles seamlessly blended together and an attention to detail rarely seen. The "crown jewel" is the school's library. Be sure to ask for Jack, a 2nd year architecture student at the school who evinces an infectious enthusiasm and deep knowledge of this remarkable building.

“Beautiful building!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

I visited on Doors Open Day (Sun), and enjoyed an informative and interesting guided tour, given by Laura G. This is a lovely working building, with a stunning exterior and beautiful interior. The library is dark and atmospheric, and it feels like you are stepping back in time, other areas like the 'hen run' is bathed in natural light, with stunning views over Glasgow. Definitely worth a visit.
