If you are visiting Glasgow and have business in the west-central district (full of office buildings), this is the place to stay. It is a contempory, luxury boutique hotel similar in price and style to a Park Hyatt. About three blocks away is a Holiday Inn. Let the sales staff stay there. The CEO and sales manager stays here to impress and get some privacy.
The second floor room I had wasn't huge, but wasn't small either. Nice for one or two adults.
The bath was a bit small. Little counter space. Nice scented toiletries and a large showerhead (see my photo).

Right now, forget the hotel restuarant. The menu needs work. I had great dinners at Ragano's and Ho Wong (Chinese). Both long established restaurants several blocks away. A short cab ride or a bit of a walk.

I would recommend this hotel for it's weekend rate. Good style for honeymooners. It deserves it's top ranking.

This is the second time I have stayed here this year and both times were excellent. Stayed at the end of May with my mum, aunt and a friend while visiting for my graduation. We all thoroughly enjoyed the personal touches of the hotel.

Staying last weekend with my husband who is quite critical he found the hotel to be quite luxurious but with personal touches from the staff. The rooms were lovely with flat screen televisions, CD/DVD players and a lovely bathroom.

Both times we have been overlooking the city centre police station and have had no problems with noise at all and both times were on a Saturday night.

I would recommend this hotel for those who want to be close to the shops and restaurants and we were even at a concert and travelled to the exhibition centre by taxi which was very reasonable.

I stayed on the first floor and my room was above the bar so it got quite loud. Also, there is no air conditioning in the rooms on the first floor. You would think that this would not matter in the Glasgow climate, but you would be wrong. I am a person who travels with extra sweaters because I am always cold, but it was too hot to breathe in there. They did have some sort of machine that you filled with ice and blew vaguely cool air over the bed, but it was not enough.

Yet the room was a good size, large enough to have a chaise lounge in the corner. But there wasn't a lot of closet space which didn't bother me but may bother some.

It was about a five to ten minute walk to the center of the city which I liked, but it is up a hill so you should keep that in mind if you are considering this hotel.

The service in the restaurant was friendly, but unequivocably slow. I went there twice and each time I had to walk up to the bar to pay because no one seemed to want to take my check.

I would stay here again, but not before I research other options.

We booked this hotel as we had always wanted to stay at one of the Mals. I wish I hadn't bothered. Although we had been allocated a suite as a price of £160 per night, I needed a torch to get across the room. The curtain was hanging off the rail and the window overlooked the office development about twenty feet away. They could have frosted to window and taken away the very heavy curtain to allow more light in. The bed was fine, but generally the room looked a bit shabby. Mini bar, does one need a mortage just to have a bar of chocolate!

We were only staying one night and were just using it to sleep in. If I were staying longer then I would have asked to be moved or a reduction in price.

We left our wedding party in full swing to start our honeymoon with a couple of nights at Malmasion. We had told the hotel it was our honeymoon and booked a deluxe double room. The room was quite small and there was little room to get around the bed to make it to the bathroom. We also had an unfortunate view of a brick wall and the rubbish bins and the heating was on full despite being August. That said the room was stylish and comfortable and the check in guy was very friendly and sent 2 glasses of sparkling wine to our room.

Service at breakfast was very disappointing. We had to ask twice for cutlery, they got our order wrong and there was nothing left in the continental buffet, despite being approx. 1 hour left of breakfast. The waitresses were disinterested and the food was average at best.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and suggested some good restaurants.

All in all our stay was OK but not the experience we were looking for. We won't stay again.
