The Malmaison in Glasgow is a lovely hotel, stunning to look at inside and out. I was bowled over by the sumptuous interior of the reception, such helpful and smiley staff. Nothing too much trouble. And the room was wow! They think of everything, lovely free toiletries you can take home with you too. We stayed in a large double which was in the older part of this converted greek orthodox church, really high ceilings and room for a lovely little seating area. Just pure relaxation, only 5 mins walk into the heart of Glasgow city centre.
Breakfast was divine - Eggs Benedict, tiny little melon balls, fancy yoghurts.....mmmmm.
I didnt want to leave :-)

We stayed here August 25th. Loved the room. Great bed and beautiful bathroom. I also took all of the Arran Aromatics home! The breakfast was also good -- full Scottish breakfast with great breads. We also met some nice folks from the East coast who were doing the hop on-off bus tour. We had a great stay here! Very friendly people at the reception desk too.

Having read some of the reviews on this site, we started to wonder what we were going to !!! We shouldn't have worried - the staff were exceptionally professional and kind, the room (Suite) had the WOW Factor, the attention to detail was amazing, the food & wine in the Brasserie were second to none. Room service was excellent and there is nothing we could find fault with. We have been to many British hotels, including 5* London ones, however, this one wins hands down and we will be returning soon, and recommending to friends & family.

I recently spent a night at Glasgow's Malmaison. It was a very positive experience, from check-in to check-out.

On arrival the Receptionist was friendly and efficient. I'd requested a quiet room and was allocated twin-room 102, located off the corridor behind Reception. It was perfect for us. The decor was dramatic in rich shades of burgundy, black and cream. Thick tweedy curtains maybe 25ft long hung on curved rods at the two large windows. Our 'view' was of the interior courtyard and skylights. Very peaceful.

The compact bathroom was beautifully-finished in slate and had a 10" rainfall shower. The Arran Aromatics toiletries were gorgeous, especially the soap.

Whilst not exactly scorching outside we were still very glad of the quiet and effective air-conditioning in our room and made full use of it.

The coffee-making facilities were on a tray 'hidden' in the wardrobe, along with an ironing-board, iron, hairdryer and desk-top fan. As expected the coffee/tea was of a good quality.

I enjoyed curling up on the surprisingly comfortable chaise longue to goggle the box.

The beds were supremely comfortable, with thick mattress-pads and crisp white sheets. Given that it was summer the duvets could perhaps have been a little lighter, less warm.

Breakfast the next morning was superb. Again the staff were friendly and efficient. There was a good choice of 'cooked to order' items and I plumped for porridge followed by Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Oh my. Delicious.

Check-out was quick and stress-free.

This was my first experience of a Malmaison hotel and it could not have gone more smoothly. Well Done to all the staff at Glasgow Malmaison, and thank you!

We have just arrived back home after a one night stay at the Malmaison. You cannot check in until 2pm so we dutifully arrived at 2pm to find a "problem" with the pricing of our booking.Originally we booked directly with the hotel for a rate of £179 per night, but with a few weeks to go my wife found it on bookings.com for £89.We pitched up and was shown our room, within 5 minutes i was back down to reception to get another room as it was dirty with a massive stain on the carpet,i was given another room which was ok but with no apology from the front desk. A word of warning THE HOTEL ROOMS HAVE NO AIR CONDITIONING so they were incredibly hot (even for Scotland)there are fans in the room but very noisy,so needless to say we were roasting. The breakfast room downstairs in the Brasserie the next morning was also really really hot as there also is no A/C so everybody was fanning themselves with the menus. The breakfast was OK but i found myself rushing it as it was just too hot down there.I dont think we would stay there again. We are really glad we didnt spend £179 on the room

  • Disliked — very hot,no a/c
