We stayed for one night in a 'club' room, dining and taking breakfast in the hotel. When booking the accommodation, the hotel itself only had £300+ rooms available, so we made the reservation through laterooms.com, who have a block booking with the hotel. We would recommend others to try this option, particularly as we were able to get a discount in the process.
Parking, which could otherwise have been a problem here, was greatly facilitated by the zealous attention of the doorman, who appeared out of nowhere as we drew up at the hotel and made a space available for us in front of our house. Our room was splendidly appointed but was unremittingly dark, only subdued lighting being available, and it was frustrating not to have the option of normal lighting when unpacking and dressing for dinner.
Dinner itself was disappointing. Presentation and service were to very high standards, but we found the food itself to be largely tasteless, neither preserving nor enhancing the flavour of the ingredients. We dine regularly at high quality restaurants, and have plenty to compare against.
A slightly harsh review, perhaps, given the efficient, relaxed and friendly service received at all times. However, compared to the best we have experienced elsewhere, the points noted just prevent us from rating the experience as 5-star.

We arrived at the Hotel du Vin at approx. 4pm to be greeted with the offer of a free "wee dram" which was a welcome warm up due to the freezing February weather. We managed to get a last minute booking through laterooms at a cost of a measly £99, so I thought we'd get put in a pokey little room...How wrong could I have been, we were in the Tattinger Room which was a standard room at the back of House 5. The room was lovely with a huge bed, BOSE sound system and large flatscreen TV on the top floor which gave it a penthouse feel. We decided not to venture out of the Hotel that night as it was so amazing and managed to get a table in the bistro at 6.30, which was the only time available. The food was great (if a little on the pricey side) but that is what you should expect from an establishment of this standard. 10/10 for the service and hotel in general!!

All the hotel staff were friendly and efficient. We have a dog and they made her welcome too as she stretched out by the fire. The hotel du vin ethos is to help you relax and feel at home which they managed from entering the Hotel. would go back to this and would try the others if we could get in !

I stayed here for two nights, the night before my wedding and our wedding night. It was a lovely experience.

Despite having some issues with our original room booking (we got bumped from the room we had booked) and a very unhelpful member of staff (a lady from the events team), we had a lovely stay. The reception staff went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure we were given an alternative room that we both loved.

The rooms are very dark and luxurious. I would recommend asking to stay in one of the more modern rooms. We stayed in a duplex suite which had a fab bathroom and lovely bathtub in the bedroom.

The hotel was a bit noisey on the Friday night with people moving along the corridor.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. I would stay again.

A fabulous hotel which I would recommend to any of my friends. We had dinner and an overnight stay and I only wish we could have stayed longer. We were greeted by Robert, the kilted doorman, and taken to the lounge while we were checked in. Our room wasn't ready so we had tea and shortbread in front of the fire while we waited. It was worth waiting for - the room was huge and had every comfort you could think of. The staff were lovely, especially David in reception, and had obviously been hand picked to deliver the excellent service we received throughout our stay. This is truly a five star establishment and we will definitely be back.
