“Typical City Pub Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Looking for some decent pub food after an exhausting day in and around Glasgow, The Hengler's is a suitable place to go for. The "classics" of modern pub food, as fish 'n chops, chicken tikki masala and others are well done, the list of guest ales and ciders is splendid and serverd fresh. If youlook for a vivid place with a city pub atmosphere, try it!

“Great gourmet burgers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

The location on Sauchiehall Street is convenient and the burgers are really good. There is a nice selection of drinks in with the deal of burger and a drink. The onion rings were crisp and crunchy and the sides were nice.

“Not up to Wetherspoon standards”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Food and alcohol were cheap. Excellent selection of beers. However, we had burger and bangers and mash and both were really NOTHING special at all. If you go into a place with quite low expectations and even those are not met then, it's really not all that good. After all, Wetherspoons is generally straightforward fare and this was below even that. Everything just tasted blah and bland. Service was friendly and fast and the location is good giving a seemingly better option than all the "buffets" on that end of Sauchiehall. I would not go again (except for beer)

“much improved”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

We had a meal yesterday evening, we really chose this pub as it was in a convenient location, right next to the bus stop. I was a bit unsure as the last time I had chips there, a couple of years ago, they were poor. This visit was greatly improved, the chips were hot and cooked properly.
It is a typical Weatherspoons pub and one of the really good things is that they have a leaflet giving allergy advice for everything on the menu so it is easy to chose a suitable meal.
The staff were busy, yet friendly and the tables were cleared and cleaned quickly.

“Not as good as usual”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013 via mobile

Typical Glasgow day, cold and wet outside so came into pub for shelter from the rain. Air con was on so it was freezing. Did ask staff if they could turn it off and they said yeah but it takes a while. Was still ice cold when we left.
Limited to placed you can go with kids otherwise we would have eaten elsewhere.
