“Funky, Quirky, Modern and Delightful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Well, what can I say? Brilliant night spent at the CitizenM - a great experience. Funky and modern with room concept that is both sensual and practical. The mood lighting and spacious shower compliment each other.

Recommend for a stay following a hard day's Xmas shopping followed by over indulgence in sipping Glasgow's finest array of cocktails (and sparkly wine)!

Value for money indeed!

The only grumble would be two small things a hospitality tray would be great and also another waste paper bin . Other than those very small improvements i cannot fault the hotel or the wonderful staff !! Cheers citizenM cant wait to return !!!

The hotel is very modern and very well furnished. Immediate impressions were like most trendy things, they look pretty but are not functional .... I was wrong! I really liked the self check in service which was basically a computer which checked your details and issued you with your room, hows about that for saving on a pension and paid sick leave?!?!

We were given a KING COURTYARD VIEW ROOM (636) which has a view of the back of buildings, car park and building site (I obviously don't get the trendy new name for courtyard?). The room was officially the SMALLEST ROOM I HAVE EVER PAID FOR, it was basically a 5mx4m "box" with a bed, storage underneath and a "pod thing" for loo and shower.

A great deal was made about free movies and the fantastic gizmos and gadgets that the room had, but in all honesty my own tv and system is far superior, living room is far comfier and bed is 100 times better! Free movies was good, but out of the 7 or 8 pages that there was around 5 of them were PORN, which may or may not suit everyones taste?

The worst thing about the hotel was the fact that the "pod" which was your loo and shower did not have a wash hand basin in it, which to me is a major contribution to cross contamination as it was located IN THE BEDROOM?? The best things about the hotel were the friendly and courteous staff and the breakfast.

All in all not too bad, but we will not be back.

Room Tip: Go to the Hilton!!

This hotel puts the M in modern.

It has sleek, modern design. Swiss furniture of high quality. The rooms are ALL the same, so it does not matter which one you get, they all look exactly the same. You check in yourself, and check out. The room contains a lovely, very comfy bed, a small bathroom but with a lovely shower. Movies is free in the hotel, so is wi-fi. There is an lovely lounge area with free use of Mac's should you need to use a computer yet do not have your own.

You can change the colour of the room yourself, set a mood with both sound system and lighting options. The room remote works for both blinds, lights, sound, tv and heat.

Personally I like more old fashoned hotels, with front desk receptions, restaurants and so on. If you are after a modern experience in the heart of Glasgow, CitizenM is for you.

The downsides was the breakfast. It was quite confusing and the selection was a bit poor. But it is part of their design and style.

Room Tip: They are all the same.

Great location for shopping and the Royal concert hall. Would not like to stay for more than one night as really no storage space for clothes or hanging space therefore would have to live out of your suitcase. Overnight bag ideal. Very modern room with all the mod cons, once you get used to the remote control. Had room on 5th floor with a supposed city view but only looked onto the building across the road so need to be higher for a proper city view I suspect. Power shower the best I have had in a hotel. Breakfast was interesting in as much as the seating was wherever you could find a space, even the bar counter was being used.

Room Tip: Above 5th floor if you require a good view of the city. Courtyard rooms I expect would be quieter, n...

Just back from a stay in the Citizen M. There is an led light that you can change the colours or turn on off using a remote. The bed is massive you can either sleep facing the telly or facing the bathroom. It was quite an uncomfortable sleep though.

Telly on wall loads of channels film channels and lots of porn. Beware the remote has two ok buttons and I clicked okay and ended up watching some dodgy gay porn had to cover my eyes lol.

Room quite compact on left hand side when walk in bathroom and shower can either have small shower head or the massive shower head on the room like a rain shower.

Only complaint one bin in whole room which was the tiny bathroom bin.

Also when you enter your room there is a wee character sitting on your bed waiting for you.

The blind were shut using the remote control as well kinda cool. There is also a ipod docking station but ours didn't seem to work.

We never went to the restaurant but am sure it was nice. When you arrive you need to go to the first floor for self serivce check ins/check outs.

Hotel is just opposite the Cineworld so great location in town. Would go back but need to save as £75 quite expensive per night.
