“Very good and stylish food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

The food at art lovers café at House for an Art lover could not really be anything other than stylish and beautiful. It also tasted very nice.

We had hoped to eat here a day earlier but had not booked as we had gone to New Lanark for the morning and so were unsure what time we would arrive. By the time we did there were no tables available and so on our return made sure we got a table.

I chose the Duckling breast and Pear Tarte Tatin while she had the Red Mullet and Pannacotta. With a couple of glasses of wine and espresso the total cost of £48 was good for such high quality food.

The service was very friendly, and efficient. A great place for lunch.

“Gold Medal!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2014

Our family lunched there before the Commonwealth Games rugby 7s at nearby Ibrox. We had reserved but knew they would be very busy so didn't know what to expect! Reception was mayhem but we were well received by very professional & attentive staff. Table service was a little slow. But well worth the wait because that will change by the day but the food, when standards were probably most stretched, was award winning! The duck I had at 4pm (when the kitchen may have been flagging!) was superior to what I've paid double for elsewhere. We had starters & mains - all varied but all consistently high standard and great value.

“Beautiful venue - relaxed dining!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

I recently had lunch at House for an Art Lover with family, but also enjoyed a friends wedding here last year - both very nice! The building itself is lovely, with beautiful examples of Mackintosh design throughout - the bright white music room is stunning! The walled garden is nice for a short stroll, but Bellahouston park itself is also worth a visit. The restaurant has a very relaxed cafe-style feel, and the food is of a very high standard. Service was also very good - I'm sure I'll be back again soon!

“Surprise Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

Popped into this venue last week for a quick lunch. I must say I was surprised. The food is simply divine. I had scallops, black pudding with salad etc. It was really really good. Pudding were fabulous also. It really is such a great place to sit & chill. Will definitely return & would certainly recommend.
