“Excellent night out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

Came here for their early dinner deal. £15 for a three course meal before 6.00 pm. Very entertaining chefs. Amazing experience. Suitable for children from the age of 7 and up. The look of wonderment on their faces as the chefs flip bowls, spin eggs and fire food at you is money well spent. Vegetarians are suitable catered for too. My sister had a tofu steak and it was cooked separately from all the other meats in an oven in the back. A night to remember and recommended for a special occasion.

“Novelty Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

Went here on Sunday Night at 7.00pm with a party of 8 people for a Birthday celebration, When we arrived we had to wait five minutes for our table to be ready. Staff are excellent. Waiter took our order we then had our starters I had Shiitake Mushrooms which I found were a bit dry and too much.

Then the chef arrives and sets up the grill. He asked if anyone has been here before and nobody had been before. The chef then cooked potatoes on the grill and went round everyone at the table tossing the potatoes to catch them in your mouth. That was a hit or miss, then out came the knives and he did some tricks with them and also tricks with eggs, one thrown at the Birthday Girl which fell flat as this one was made of rubber.

Next we had some potatoes to eat, personally I found them too salty, we then got some vegetables which were very oily while you are eating vegs he was making the fried rice for the 8 of us. Then he cooked the Salmon while you waited and the other chef made the chicken. Portion sizes were OK I had the chicken teriyaki which was mild but again too much salt in rice and veg. I had to leave half the rice

Did not have a sweet but the birthday girl and her boyfriend had a set meal and the waiter had forgotten to bring it so we had to remind them. The birthday cake we brought in was brought out to our table and the chefs came with bongo drums and sang Happy Birthday,

Overall it was an experience if you like getting your food separately to eat. I agree with other reviewers that it is a bit expensive.

“Enjoy the Show”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

I went for lunch on a Saturday with a friend on a recommendation and had a fabulous time. We received a very warm welcome by the front of house staff and were shown to our table. Staff took the time to go through the menu and tell us a bit about what to expect.

We opted for some sushi to start and had the California rolls which were huge. We then opted for chicken teriyaki as our main. Our chef entered and introduced himself - then the show began. He was great; juggling eggs and catching them in his hat, throwing potato pieces and we had to catch them with our mouths, all whilst cooking our main course in front of us.

The main course was delicious and consisted of sliced potatoes, egg fried rice, stir fried veggies and the chicken. The portions were very large and we were stuffed but we couldn't stop eating as the food was so good.

“Fantastic Family Fun Day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Sapporo hold Family Fun Days a few times a year and I can't recommend them highly enough. Today's lunch was very slick and well organised. The children (and adults!) were entertained throughout by the chefs cooking in front of us, doing tricks, and throwing food for them to catch. Then there was free face painting (my son loved his dragon thank you). A great way for children to be introduced to Japanese food and reasonably priced - £4.95 for children and £10.95 for adults. Great service and great food, what more could you want.
