“Overnight Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Stayed overnight with my wife, had dinner in restaurant which was great, pleasant staff and great food. Our room was spacious, overlooking the sun terrace.
Breakfast was both continental and full Scottish (cooked to order).
Will definitely return to stay and make use of spa. We were going out for the night and did not have time to sample these facilities.

Great hotel!! It feels so upscale and lovely. The spa is also a dream, and was the perfect way to unwind after a long journey. We also greatly enjoyed breakfast, which boasts a bloody mary bar and full breakfast. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Visited hotel for the third time on the 7/7/14 the room we were given had not been cleaned any where near a satisfactory level someone had wrote "clean me on" the marble wall in the WC nice!! The top of the unit behind the TV was thick with dust, the tv remote control never worked and the safe wasn't anchored down to anything, I brought all these points up with reception and was offered a drink? Really disappointed with my stay and shall not return too many nice hotels out there to choose from iam afraid .

Room Tip: Take your own duster and polish.

Superb hotel, the best hotel-spa in the UK by some distance, great rooms and even better bathrooms, excellent breakfasts with parma ham cut from the beast, black pudding with hints of nutmeg and a good cup of tea. Really, really good hotel.

This is our third visit to this hotel, the first two being not too long after it opened so I was waiting until things had settled down to review it. Booked a standard room at an extremely good rate and wasn't disappointed. Rooms are well proportioned with nice furnishings and extremely comfortable beds and bedlinens, bathrooms are luxurious. There is restricted access to the pool and spa area for overnight guests and I would highly recommend this, even better to book one of the fabulous treatments on offer. Breakfasts are very good with a great choice of different options. Staff are all very friendly and efficient.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the square have the nicest views.

Beautiful building, and fantastically trained staff. Real service culture, and super food.
The bar upstairs has a real buzz about it, and clearly a destination location.
The spa is stunning, and just goes on and on, room after room.
Great location, you will not be disappointed.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

I visited the Blythswood hotel two weeks ago. It started off well, the receptionist was friendly and attentive and promised a nice room when check in was available. And nice it was, bright coenor room overlooking the square. The furnishings were modern and a high quality, the the bathroom a little dark for my taste.

Had high hopes, but this was thr only superior aspect of the stay.

Went to the bar, asked for my favoured gin, to be advised that thy didn't have any cucumber that day... given it is only 100 meters from a main shopping street, I thought this strange. Next up. I ordered a taxi after 20 mins I ventured into reception to be told...there is a taxi waiting but I don't know if its yours, she did find out when I asked! As we left the bar, I booked a table, in a quiet corner for breakfast as I was seeing some clients.

After a great night out at Mother India's cafe, which was quite excellent.... returned to the hotel for a quick nightcap. Asked for an old fashioned... Q. what whisky do you want sir..? A. I thought it was a bourbon that was used, can you ask the barman which one he recommends?

Twenty minutes later, we left with no response from the waiting staff. On our way out I spoke to the bar supervisor who advised that she was sorry about the delay, that I was an awkward customer but what did I think she should do about it!!

Next morning, at breakfast I asked for my table.....it hadn't been booked.

Five star....not with staff like these.
