“The very best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

We're very lucky to live near North Star, it's one of the friendliest places you can go and the coffee and food are excellent. The customers are of all types and ages.
Whether you are having breakfast, french toast, home made focaccia, salad, soup, sandwiches, ciabatta or cakes (gluten free) it's all freshly made with very good ingredients.

As an added bonus, as well as the more traditional cafe fare, there are always amazing made to order specials at lunchtime, such as 'Fresh egg tagliatelle made in a cream sauce with wild mushrooms' 'Tiger prawn salad made with a lemon and ginger dressing' or 'Pork sausage kebab with mushroom and grilled tomato' (Check out their Facebook page for more)
These are all made when you order, which means you have to wait a little while, but it's more than worth it.

If you are lucky, you can also book for their (monthly-ish) evening dinner parties, again fabulous food (BYOB). My partner booked his birthday here and Ester and Maurizio went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect and also made a birthday cake. They are the most welcoming and lovely couple. All our guests were blown away by the food.
If you're visiting the West End, it's just a 10minute walk from Hillhead and it's very near the Botanics.
One review mentioned no toilet, which is incorrect. Just ask at the counter and they will show you where it is.

“Consistently Excellent !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Often come here and can't say just how high I rate it. If your looking for a cafe in the West End its worth making that extra 5 minute walk along Queen Margaret Drive to get to this gem. I should know I've been to most of the cafe near Byers Road!

Personally I make it a point of going for their special of the day , the food is top quality and professionally made - so its got that home made feel to it but also delivers time and again. At peak times it can get busy but thats the only downfall. Great people too!
