“Noisy shambles”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

Very disappointed with this place and unlucky with my choice. Two forkfuls of eating in my lobster served with hollandaise and chips. So basically £24 for a portion of chips!! My friend shared the Asian plate starter with me which was lukewarm. Pudding ok. A bill of £230 was horrendous for the quality of food. Ver noisy atmosphere, we went out to the balcony for after dinner drinks so we could speak to each other but quite cold. Would not go back there again.

“Pleasantly surprised.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2013

I took my mother and father here for lunch at the weeked and was very pleasantly surprised. I had no idea that there was such a nice "proper" dining room inside at the back, having only before seen the tables on the landing and the booths/tables immediately inside. As it was a busy sunday lunchtime we were taken right through into the very classy looking restaruant at the back. The young waitress was very helpful and the service could not be faulted. I had the pulled pork on a burger which was extremely tender with a marvelous bbq style sauce. My father had the prawn tagliatelle and there were plenty of prawns and they were large and tender. My mother had the sunday roast dinner and again there was an abundance of lean lamb with an excellent choice of vegetables and yorkshire pudding. The presentation of the food was very good and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The wine is not cheap at over £7 for a large merlot, but it IS Princes Square in the centre of town, so I suppose that is to be expected. If like me you would rather dine in a real restaurant style setting whilst out shopping and not be at tables on a thoroughfare, then this dining room inside is for you. It wasn't cheap, but it also was good value for money as the portions were well sized and delicious. We felt comfortable and not rushed and will certainly return there again in the future.

“Steak Out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

Had tried two other grill restaurants in the area and came upon this by accident as Princes Square is not a usual haunt. Had been looking for a steak and decided on here, short wait on table so sat at bar with soft drinks (we were collecting cars left in town overnight!) watching the cocktail staff throw shapes with fluids into glasses, impressive. Were shown to table, drinks brought through and quickly chose main course from menu, 35 day air matured sirloin, the chips and peppercorn sauce were eclipsed by my steak, requested medium however was tending toward rare. It was fab, would recommend to anyone going out for a steak, fish and chips and chocolate brownie were great too.
