“Lovely lunch with friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

Have been to La Lanterna many times over the years and it never disappoints us. Met friends for lunch last month and thoroughly enjoyed the food, and the waiters made us feel so welcome. Will be back again. Would recommend it to everyone.

“One of Glasgow's great Italian restaurants. Highly recommended.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012

My ma, sister and I all have our birthdays in the same week so we came down to celebrate. Straight away the warmth of the staff was evident; we really couldn't have been made to feel any more welcome. A lovely, cosy space with a traditional Italian feel, and food to match the atmosphere. Bean soup was hearty and nourishing, not at all bland and stodgy which is a risk with such dishes - perfectly seasoned and a meal in itself. My veal cutlet was, if I'm honest, one of the best cuts of meat I've ever been served. I asked for it, as I tend to do with a large peice of veal, cooked as the chef thought best, and it was tender and juicy and full of flavour. My companions had langoustine, and both said that they haven't had better. House wine by the glass was a delicious Puglian Primitivo, and our waiters were consistently charming and efficient throughout. A sublime Sicilian orange liqueur rounded things off and left us all with the taste of a special restaurant that we'd be happy to visit again and again.

“Another really great evening out with friends in La Lanterna”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2012

This must be our 8th or 9th visit to La Lanterna, we have dined as a Couple, with Friends and with 'La Famiglia'. Every time we visit we are delighted with the Food, Service, Drinks and Atmosphere. The Food is truly, generously and typically Italian as is the waiting staff. As a fellow restaurateur and professional, I recognise value for money and a great product when I see it and the guys at La Lanterna provide it in Spades. Congratulations and well done once again.

“Excellente ;0)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2012

I have eaten here a couple of times now and the food never disappoints - the Canneloni l had last night (made with pancakes) was delicious - I could have eaten it all over again had l not been so full. The staff are friendly and efficient and some of the waiters are native Italian speakers which is always good for an Italian restaurant. There was very much the feeling that the restaurant is a family affair and everyone working there is committed to your enjoyment whilst dining there.

“fantastic authentic italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2012

La Lanterna is in the heart of Glasgow but you could easily be in a wee corner of Tuscany. The atmosphere is great. The staff are very attentive, and the food is great value for money (three course meal for under £30). Love this place. Can't wait to go back!
