Great food great service some of the best Indian food I have ever had and I've been lucky enough to travel round India. Lamb chops are a must. All the food is fresh and tasty great pakoras and all tandoori dishes amazing. My first port of call for Indian food.

“A great little restaurant within two minutes of Central Station”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

Went in on the recommendation of two strangers outside looking at the menu having themselves been recommended by a friend.
Just made it for the theatre menu (before 6pm) 2 courses for £9.95.
The service was excellent. Ushered to a seat and two pappadums with relishes arrived before we finshesed saying yes please! (these were £2.95 extra)
The first course, one chiken pakora and one fish packora swiftly followed and was delicious.
Second course of one prawn south indian curry and one lamb south indian curry with fried rice for two also arrived without too much delay. Both the curries were very good - although. wondered how they could acheive such a deep red sauce (possibly food colouring? shame if they resort to that as the food flavour stands up on it's own without it.) Disappointed with the choice of only steamed or fried rice (no pilau) having said that, the fried rice was delicious - not at all like chinese fried rice.
Shared a large bottle of cobra (£4.99)
Total bill including tip came to £30.00
The service could not be faulted. Would re visit.

“Amazing service, incredible food- one of our favourites”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013 via mobile

Service in Charcoals is second to none, the staff are attentive and professional without ever.being overbearing. Ali is the perfect host, he tries to get to know customers personally and remembers regulars, treating them as vips. Food is fantastic, plenty of options for every palate. We have been on several occasdions and will continue to go whenever we fancy a great curry. Give this little gem a try- you won't regret it!

“Impressive Service, tasty food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

I visited Charcoals for the first time last week after reading several glowing Trip Advisor reviews and I really enjoyed my visit.
From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel very welcome and the service for the duration of the meal was very friendly and attentive. Ali in particular was really friendly, making time to come over and chat to us and other diners.
As for the food, everything was very tasty with huge portion sizes. The meat samosa I had for my starter was the biggest I've ever seen! It was also nice to be given poppadums and dips for free.
Would highly recommend.
