Good location, straightners were a nice touch, decor was nice, was clean, good wifi, guy was nice on the phone yesterday morning...
Receptionist was very rude, no restaurant/bar, no bath, room was very cramped- too much furniture for size, no view, duvet cover had a hole in it, memory foam pillows were uncomfy, wasn't able to phone reception, reception isn't open from 10pm-7am (arrived at 9:30pm, luckily we weren't held up), wasn't told a time for breakfast but when arrived downstairs at 9:50 was told it ended at 9:30, had a voucher to the value of £30 for dinner there from work but no way of using it, main door was always locked so felt unwelcome on arrival, fire alarm at 10:30am...
Need I go on?
Fine if you need somewhere to crash for a night after a night out or a long journey etc but even then you would probably be cheaper, more welcome and have a better stay in a travelodge.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at the Acorn Hotel, we will try to address some of your comments. Regarding the memory foam pillows we use througout the group and have had several comments regarding how comfortable they are, Mr McQuade Snr uses these pillows himself at home and also has a set in keeping with the hotel he uses regularly in Tenerife, pillows are something which can be down to a matter of personal taste, one which is comfortable for one person may not be for another, as a hotel we normally strive to attain the middle ground with things like this so that they will suit the vast majority of guest's. Reception is closed between 10pm and 7.30am, it is clearly stated on all the websites we use that the latest check in time is 10pm. There is a member of staff on the premises during the night for emergencies only. The door is locked 24/7 as a matter of security, our staff are not always at the reception desk as they have other duties which may take them away from t he desk for some time, we have a duty of care to our guest's and as such we do not want to encourage people to just walk in off the street at any time. With reference to the voucher which you say your work gave you for dinner at the hotel, we are at a loss to explain this as we are a bed and breakfast hotel, we do not do evening meals, we never have done and we have no arrangements with anyone regarding vouchers.
