“Excellent value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

This hotel is in a beautiful old building and features HUGE rooms with tall ceilings and lovely architectural details. I loved the appointments, the huge windows and the large and clean bathroom. The mattress and linens were perfect. They also had a real corded hairdryer. The hotel is close to Charing Cross station and around the corner from Sauchiehall Street. Kind of a walk to Queen Street, but still easy (15-20 minutes or so at a good pace). The front desk people were wonderful and helpful. The only thing making this rating Very Good instead of Excellent is that they turn off the heat at night and it was very cold in my room. I felt that this cheapened an otherwise fantastic hotel.

Hotel was very comfortable, staff were incredibly polite and accommodating and were more than happy to help us around the city by arranging taxi transport to help us around the city. The rooms, both bathroom and bedroom, were very spacious and comfortable, with a relaxing atmosphere. Ideally located in the center of Glasgow, getting around to notable areas such as the Merchant City and the West End, as well as Kelvingrove museum etc. was no problem at all. Next time I visit Glasgow I will definitely be looking to stay here again.

Room Tip: Executive rooms are definitely worth it.

Hotel is in a good location. I was upgraded to a very large room, but the bathroom was a little small, the. Breakfast was very good and the staff very nice and helpful. I stayed at another hotel earlier this year in Glasgow that was more expensive and not as nice. I would stay here again when I return to Glasgow.

Room Tip: I am from the US but got a better deal booking on the BestWestern UK site

This hotel photos are nothing like you find when you get there, We had a room that we could not see out window and offices looking over us, we could not open the wardrobe door as the bed was in the way we had to pass the clothes to squeeze then in, The bed was the most uncomfortable i have slept in for ages the sheets did not fit the bed, on the second day they did not clean our room they knocked at 5pm and we were getting ready to go out that night so no way were we going to let them in said oh we have been busy today not got round more like it was busy as Robbie Williams was in town and we were not important ! even tho we had booked for 4 nights well i will not rush back we booked 6 months ago too not last minute

Room Tip: sorry not sure any are good !!

Very nice hotel, great location and the staff were extremely helpful. If I visited the city again I would definitely return. Having visited other hotels in Glasgow, this was certainly the best all-rounder and I cannot recommend it enough.

Found the room in this hotel to be very small. The hotel does need a refurb given the current spec/size if the rooms. Balance this against the nightly rate and there are other hotels that offer far better value for money along with a better more central location.

A hotel at the cheaper end of the market. It is reasonably well situated. However it's facilities are very limited. There is no lift (though the rooms are only on two floors). The room I had was very small and dingy with a high window which you could only open, or close the blinds on, by climbing precariously on the bed! The bathroom had cracked floor tiles, a hot tap which was loose and a bath-shower screen which was ineffective leaving the floor soaked. The bathroom was also very small! Breakfast was average though some items eg fresh fruit and croissants were not replenished in the last hour of service. Overall I would have rated in a 2/5 but for the staff who were excellent - very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Unfortunately I don't think there are any. If you can't take stairs there are ground floor r...
