Description: Glasgow's famous Pot Still Pub hosts the finest collection of malt whisky in Scotland. 'THE POT STILL'. The very name evokes the warmth of mellow single malt Scotch whisky. From the seaweed strewn bays of Islay, the rugged mountains of the Highlands and the clear, cool rivers of the Lowlands, malts of all persuasions mean quality and contentment to whisky lovers the world over. For anyone who has travelled to Glasgow they also mean the home of Scotland's premier whisky pub, The Pot Still, named after the earliest whisky stills and situated in the bustling city centre at 154 Hope Street. Lovers of a good Scotch have come from all over the world to this wonderful little pub and returned time and time again. The attraction? The hundreds (literally) of malt whiskies on display on the impressive gantry. It is not unusual to see Americans, Germans, Swedes, Danes, Japanese and Irish jostling with Glaswegian regulars at the bar for service from the attentive and cheery staff.

“Great choices of single malt!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2014

… but do not expect to eat there.

Our group of 7 adults loved comparing a dozen excellent drinks. They have 6 or more deeply discounted whiskey of the month and hundreds of others to try, in addition to several beers on tap. We would have stayed longer if we had some snacks to match.

“The real deal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2014

Probably the best whisky bar in the world (no hyperbole) - in the heart of Glasgow. Shelves reach to the ceiling and here you'll find whisky you simply can't find anywhere else. The product knowledge is amazing. The red-bearded man in the kilt was so eager to offer advice to this Canadian who has an interest in good Scotch. He went to the top shelf and lined up 6 bottles, describing each, for me to pick. Two visits in Nov'13 because once was not enough. Looking forward to my next visit.

“Great Pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

If you are coming to Glasgow and are a whisky lover the Pot Still, Hope Street is a must!
With shelves of bottles that reach the ceiling, a ladder needed to reach them, (If the guy with the kilt on duty and you get one from the top shelf ladies, No peeking) the choice is wide, advice is at hand if you require it, most do. If you have not tried the amber liquid but would like to? You will get the best advice possible from friendly staff who will tell you about the different types, what part of Scotland it comes from and find the best one to suit you. Those who think they are all the same will be in for a shock.

“Amazing Scotch Selection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

They have an amazing scotch selection (like you would expect at most places) but they are ridiculously helpful here. We would explain (fairly poorly) one that we had by describing a label and they would know it. They would also be very helpful in pairing a scotch to something similar that you might like. Definitely a place to check out for first time Glasgow visitors.
