While in Glasgow recently my wife and I visited the Pot Still. We both enjoy a Scotch Whisky from time to time and were overwhelmed by the selection. We wanted to try something other than the usual Scotch we have back home; but were intimidated by the choices. We told the owner what we typically drink and asked for suggestions. He didn't merely give us a suggestion, but he gave us the background of the styles we like and the various differences between them. He placed at least a dozen bottles on the bar and had us smell them and look at them as he described each one. We got an excellent tutorial in Scotch Whisky. We thoroughly enjoyed the drinks as well as the very casual atmosphere. We also wanted to try a Scothish Ale and were given a fine description of each of the taps in order to make an educated selection. Great place if you like whisky and/or beer. Nothing fancy about it; but worth the visit.
