Just come back from a weekend stay at the Glasgow Lofts. I booked this based purely from the TA reviews. There was 6 people in our party so we had a 2 bedroom apartment (floor 6 room 4) and a 1 bed room apartment (room 1 floor 6). The apartments are in fantastic location, very well equipped and beautifully furnished. The 2 bedroom apartment was excellent: loved the island worktop and open living area which is great for entertaining. The one bedroom was adequate for 2 people, but the 2 bedrooms are much more impressive.

The main negatives we experienced are:

1. Most staff were helpful, except for one particular male staff who was rude to the point of obnoxious. One member of our party asked for assistance with the luggage to the room (there was 5 suitcases) and only her and the man REFUSED to help. Instead a girl from the office came out to help! The guy sat in the reception and watched them! When I arrived later to check in, he told me the room and I asked if there was a lift and I was sarcastically asked if I really wanted to be shown to the room and was I not able to! When my husband tried to call the apartments, the same man told him there was no phone in our room (and there was).
2. There are Molton Brown accessories but it is only a small shower gel and shampoo. No shower caps, cotton wool, conditioner or body lotion, so take these with you!
3. No safe in the rooms. Not handy for overseas visitors.
4. As mentioned by other reviewers, the rooms are hot and it is noisy at night (especially Saturday night!) from the night time revellery, cars racing up and down the streets and emergency services sirens. We felt that we had slept on Renfrew Street itself the first night! Our room was not even facing onto Refrew Street. Tip is to close the windows, switch on fan and close all doors. One person mentioned closing air vents on the windows and I too would recommend this.
5. Beds (double) are quite small when we are use to king size.
6. Bedroom do not have curtains, only roller blinds (not black out) so can get very bright in the morning.

You get free access to the Thistle hotel swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna which is a definite plus. There are spa treatments at the hotel and these I would recommend. The hotel is literally round the corner. There is also a Marks and Spencer with food hall diagonally across the road.

Despite the negatives, I would recommend Glasgow Lofts and would return.

Booked a 2 night midweek family break in the Glasgow Lofts. Don't be put off by the exterior 'office building' look the interior is absolutely fantastic. We had a 2 bedroomed apartment on the 6th floor, the master being king sized with ensuite jacuzzi bath and huge shower cubicle. The twin room was off the living room with dividing doors which was ideal for the kids who had their own toilet and shower room as well. The open plan living/dining/kitchen area is superb with all the appliances you could wish for. The Lofts are perfectly situated for exploring all Glasgow has to offer, I can't recommend it highly enough. There is also underground secured parking available. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful, we normally book hotels when we go away but this has given us a whole different perspective. We paid £155 per night for a family of four which was outstanding value for money given the quality of accommodtaion. Will certainly be making a return visit.

We've just returned from a weekend stay at the Glasgow Lofts, which we booked directly on their website. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so accommodating and friendly. From helping with directions and ordering cabs, to allowing us to borrow DVDs for the kids - it was really great and makes all the difference.

The apartments themselves have a real "wow" factor and very spacious - wooden floors, jacuzzi bath, bathrobes, small modern radiators, fully equipped kitchen, open plan with some clever "sliding" room partitions and STUNNING views across the Glasgow roof tops in a southerly direction. One entire wall, which runs along the length of the apartment is glass - amazing experience when the sun is streaming in (there are of course blackout blinds). Just to note there are also apartments across the corridor facing in the opposite direction - I have no idea what their views are like, but I would advise to ask for a rooftop view to the South.

You also get free passes to the pool in the Thistle hotel which is literally 50 yards away and is open from 8.30am to 9pm - fantastic for the kids - just be aware that main pool is quite deep so any child under 10 probably wouldn't be able to stand - however there is a small kiddies area/pool. There's also full SPA facilities, jacuzzi, etc. for adults.

As regards location, it's great. Pretty much in the centre of everything and a £3 cab ride from the central train station (if you're too lazy to walk). We were there on a shopping weekend and the location surpassed our expectation - so many shops, so little time.

One small negative is the night time revellery and associated noise - but then I guess this depends on your viewpoint. There are a lot of youngsters enjoying life at the top of their voices, not to mention souped up cars which roar down the street into the early hours. So a piece of advice - close the vents at the top of your window before you go to bed - this helps enormously.

Overall, a great place to stay and I'm looking forward to going back.

We were very impressed with the general overall space for the money - way better value than any hotel room for sure. Our apartment had a spacious open plan living area with two sofas, dining table, tv, dvd player, fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher and washer dryer. The bedrooms are small but perfectly adequate, full size bathroom with jacuzzi bath and separate shower cubicle and second shower room. All very modern with wooden floors, neutral decor, white linens and nice touches such as bath robes, Molton Brown toiletries, bottled water, tea/coffee etc. Were quite wowed with the floor to ceiling windows giving the most amazing city skyline views (we were on the 13th floor). The reception and concierge staff were lovely offering great advice on places to go and things to do. All good and no real complaints at all - if being majorly picky they could make them a bit more luxurious without much expense with their choice of soft furnishings such as lamps, cushions etc which already look a bit dated but as I say - it was all good and am just trying to find flaws. The one thing I would say is the glass worktops in the kitchen do not work - they look really grotty given that water seems to get trapped underneath - design flaw - but as I say, am being very picky here!! Overall, a great place to stay and would recommend and also go again without hesitation.
