My husband and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Scotland, it is a beautiful country I recommend everyone must see!
As my husband is a golf fanatic we couldn't go to Scotland without visiting St.Andrews. It is a beautiful town. What really made our trip to Scotland special (and the reason I felt I had to write this review) was Hoppity House.
My husband and I travel a lot, in all the countries we have visited we have never stayed anywhere and got the kind of hospitality we recieved at Hoppity. The owners, Heather and Gordon, are two of the nicest people we have met. They went out of their way to ensure we had an exceptional stay. Gordon was able to organise my husband various tee times even managing to get him a round on the Old Course!!! Something my husband never thought he would ever do! Heather had various reccommendations of places to see and things to do - and booked dinner reservations for us each night of our stay!
On to our bedroom! I have back problems and can be quite fussy with beds. I can honestly say I haven't had a better nights sleep in years! Our room had everything we needed from plasma screen tv, bathrobes - and my favoutrite part - breakfast! A fantastic idea, especially since I love nothing more than having breakfast in bed! Heather filled our fridge daily with fresh fruit, yoghurts, milk, breads, marmalades, fruit juice, cereal etc. There is even a toaster. A wonderul idea that I think more B&B's should think about doing - also the healthier option, which pleased me!
Heather has every aspect of a superb B&B covered, the house was spotlessly clean - something I am quite particular about!
The location of Hoppity House couldn't be better! When you step outside the door you are in St.Andrews town, with restaurants and shops a few steps away. My husband and I took a walk to the famous Old Course and were there in less than 5 minutes!
We are planning our trip for next year and will definately be going back to Hoppity House. Heather and Gordon are our new Scottish friends, this is Scottish hospitality at its very best. The only bad thing I can say is that our stay at Hoppity was not long enough - if you are lucky enough to get booked in - this B&B is a must!!
