Stayed here over the weekend for one night on a spa, dinner and breakfast deal. Room lovely, had a seaview and bed was unbelievably comfortable. Some more picky points below but was a good stay and we enjoyed ourselves.
Tv in room, picture terrible quality for a 5* place and picture aspect messed up. Would recommend that these are all looked at and/or replaced to a better model more in keeping with the style of the hotel and expectations of guests.
Visited the spa for an hour prior to our massages and found it less impressive. Had to wait quite a length of time to be signed into the spa and then was asked whether I wanted treatments billed to room. Had to explain we had pre-paid. Pool/sauna/steam room area was pretty filthy which was rather disappointing. Used towels, empty plastic cups and dirt on the floor, in the showers (even the special snail shower) and around all the tables by the pool. Would definitely benefit from someone looking after this area at all times and maintaining an appropriate level of cleanlinesses and presentation. When we had our treatments the attendants were pretty unfriendly, was clear it was their last treatment of the day and they just wanted to go home! Massage pressure was very weak and treatment (supposed to be half an hour) was only 20 minutes. Gave me and my partner a full 3 minutes to get into the bed and unroll top of swimsuit (in my case) and lie down (in his case), and then a full 5 minutes to enjoy my cup of water at the end, pretty cheeky. I always think it is a sign of a good spa (and I have been to many) when they keep to treatment times and don't try and shorten the experience through tricks like this. Would have been very disappointed if I had paid the billed £45 for this. Glad it was part of a deal. my partner reported a better experience massage-wise, better pressure, more attentive.
The dinner was lovely although as a coeliac I did have some trouble getting a meal brought out that was ok. First salad came out with a big piece of bread/cracker on top. had to send it back. Otherwise fine on the gluten-free front and provided toast for breakfast. Agree with some of the previous reviewers who said the evening staff were overly keen to serve, felt very very rushed and as if some of the staff were nervous/jumpy. Could improve but being picky, nice ambience overall.
Front desk staff were absolutely faultless. Perfect treatment, particularly from Jashwant who was a true gentleman.
